You always breathe in the Risorgimento historicity of the place, confirmed, even if a little impoverished, by a medium-sized tourist crowd that often does not know (with the exception of foreigners who are much better prepared and with guides in hand) what has been experienced and experienced since the beginning of the nineteenth century written in this place. The maintenance of tradition is appreciable, especially in the ice cream shop which offers (now unique in Turin) specialties which, in the sixties, accompanied our childhood and adolescence: Gianduiotto, Charlotte Creolle, Spumoni. Ancient flavor combinations that are now unobtainable, even if the preparation has somewhat forgotten the craftsmanship of the past. The only, serious flaw is the quality of the service: extremely and unjustifiably long waiting times, approximation in the reception of orders and major errors in their execution (for example the presentation of a banal non-alcoholic aperitif repeated three times and in any case not according to my instructions). This fault is presumably attributable to the young age, inexperience, superficiality and unpreparedness of the waiters, whose selection evokes something approximate and shabby. The only one to survive, and not by chance, is a no longer young maitre d who tries (often in vain) to make up, willingly and with professionalism, for the shortcomings of others. In conclusion, if the merit of having relaunched a place in dangerous decline must be recognised, more careful governance would more effectively enhance its historicity and tradition.

I went there with friends during a visit to Turin. We tasted the typical "bicerin" a mixture of coffee, served with milk and chocolate, and the legendary bonet (or bunèt), the spoon dessert made with eggs, milk, cocoa, amaretto and rum. The delicate amaretto flavor that should characterize this dessert was not noticeable at all, much less the rum. There was only one macaroon sitting on top of the dessert slice. Good but not unmissable. I expected more. The price, however, is remarkable: 3 bicerin and 3 bonet, €30.

It was famous for its ice cream and the gianduia and cream flavors considered the best in Turin........ I had been missing from Turin for a long time and passing through Via Po after many years I got the classic cone with cream for 3.5 euros Good cream, cheap cone, the gianduia cream tastes good without much flavor and little pieces of ice in the ice cream. Big disappointment! What can I say, go back to your previous levels, thanks!

We sit in the room adjacent to the entrance. We order two cocktails on the menu, a bicerin and a slice of sacher. The waiter brings the order to the bartender and the bartender says in a loud, rude tone: “What order from me@@@ but what do these people order a mai tai? What the f@@@..." the waiter: "I can't tell him what to order. I'll take the sacher." Shocked, we get up from the table and head towards the exit, informing them that we would not have consumed "the order of ...." I reiterate that I ordered drinks on the menu. Thank you never again!

Terrible experience in this café which is historic but unfortunately managed very poorly for several years now! Everything here is poorly managed, the service is slow and the quality of the products served is very modest! We took toast and it arrived burnt and inedible, the liquid hot chocolate, the requested tea (normal black tea!) was not available and the water was barely lukewarm and therefore not good for making tea, the coffee was barely lukewarm . A fiasco across the board, the room was barely heated with a window that let in cold air making everything very uncomfortable! I do not recommend this experience to everyone, the place would be nice if it were maintained and cleaned up, the terrible service!

We entered having read that it was one of the historic cafés of Turin...... literally rubbish!!!! Waiters who when you come in and say hello, don't even look at you in the face and obviously don't reciprocate the courtesy. We ordered a bicerin, a bavareisa and two hot eggnogs and to say that the service was pitiful is an understatement, the maitre d' was in a great hurry to take the order and didn't even give us time to ask for clarifications regarding the pastries , a shame as employees of this place! The icing on the cake is the cleanliness of the entire place, especially including the bathroom, old, small but above all dirty!!!!!

We were very poorly received at Caffè Fiorio on May 6 by the waitress who was not friendly at all. The bartender assured us that they had pizzas and once seated the waitress explained to us that they only had cold sandwiches already prepared! €65 for three for 3 sandwiches, 2 beers, fruit juice and 3 ice creams! A total scam!

We went to the Fiorio on Christmas day because it is a place dear to my father who worked there way back in 1976/77... what can I say, we were very disappointed by everything, the dark chocolate was excessively liquid as already mentioned in other reviews, a little rough waitress certainly not up to the glories of a cafe like this and last but not least female bathrooms with toilets that are embarrassing to say the least. P.s. they charge a lot for the seemingly courtesy water of 0.25 liters (€2), which is barely enough for 4 people to wet their lips. I don't think I will repeat the experience.

2 days ago my family and I went to the historic café, we ordered toast and they brought it to us, literally burnt. The waiter with the earring was very kind and very professional. He apologized to us 4 times. If I were to go back I would go back because of the friendliness of the staff. waiter but not for what we consumed also very high prices and uncommentable bathrooms

The shadow of the glorious place of the past. Coldness and rudeness, haste and poor customer care. Prices at the table NOT displayed; so one discovers that for example a very banal microginseng costs 3 euros, not to mention the much more expensive cappuccino. But among the places that loot you this is now the practice. See also further on, in Piazza Castello... Slice of pastiera, quite good, but with non-artisan cream, 5 euros. Large, semi-depopulated rooms: there is evidently word of mouth. Meh! It almost seems like they want to fail.

Founded in 1780, it was once frequented by characters such as Friedrich Nietzsche. Today it is a café with lots of gelato and sweets. I escaped from the cold November day into the cosy back room, where I ordered a Bicerin, the hot drink native to Turin. This is a layered composition of espresso, melted chocolate and cream, so filling that it turned out to be a complete lunch for me.

After lunch at the University Café, we really needed a good ice cream: and who better than Fiorio? So, we take 4 steps further (really 4 or 5 steps...) and here we are in this beautiful and historic place in real Turin, where ancient trimmings, furniture and historical paintings are the setting for one of the most popular ice cream makers in the city. The welcome is a little too formal (is it appropriate for a place like this?) and we order our ice creams: a La Bela Gigogin cup for my wife and a medium cup for me. I choose the three flavors that I consider most Piedmontese and Turin: zabaione, simply excellent (it deserves 6 dots instead of 5!), hazelnut, very good, and, last but not least, my favourite, namely the gianduiotto. And here, unfortunately, a disappointment: the taste is discreet, but absolutely not as excellent as it should be and, above all, as I remembered it from previous visits to Fiorio ice cream parlors in Turin. Too bad: I was sure I would award this tasting with 5 dots but I have to stop at 4. Let's hope it's just an accident: it can happen, but with my favorite flavour... damn! We spend 17 euros for these two cups, which also fit, but on the condition of tasting the excellence of the ice cream. Well, let's try next time.

Historic. Which means everything but can also mean nothing. Big crowd, we found a seat in a corner because there were two of us. The enthusiasm didn't last long because our bottoms immediately complained: the sofas were broken and battered. Cleaning in a very "historical" style, especially in the bathroom, which is also very "historical". In short... a clean-up would not deprive this place which is falling apart of its "historicity". Frantic service, after all given the crowding there is no room for fuss. The chocolate arrives in the blink of an eye, except that it is very liquid, barely warm, and that the cream is siphoned. The coffee cut is even worse: the ice cream is watery and contains pieces of ice. The bill is steep but people queue at the cash register to pay. The owners have no motivation to introduce improvements. Who makes them do it if people are jostling to get in? They do well to treat people "sportingly", they get what they deserve. As far as I'm concerned, I'd say that's enough. I will never set foot there again and will limit myself to remembering the ancient glories.

Ice cream café located in the center of Turin, near Piazza Castello. The place is well finished in its furnishings even if the display of the products is very confusing and careless. The service is certainly terrible and does not live up to the name represented: listless, rude staff, not at all welcoming and with little desire to work: they were very close to counting who had to go and serve. Absolutely not recommended!!

Went in due to the history of the place and had a lovely coffee and cake. The place has an old world charm about it. What a display of cakes to choose from! Absolutely lovely by the way. The young girl who served us was very polite and helpful, She spoke very good English compared to our Italian! We found the pricing not over the top.
