This restaurant which is located just off the canal serves up a the typical italian dish from the region of Emilia Romagna. The freshly fried bread pockets are so good stuffed with the selection of cold cuts and cheese. Its quite an experience and totally delicious!!

The Gnocco is not the most popular nor well know Italian dish, but its amazing and this might be the best place in Milan to try it. Gnocco is a very particular pasta-bread that usually must be accompanied by a mix of cold meat (misto de salumi - ie Parma ham) and cheese (misto di fromaggio). If you don't like... More

Nice typical italian restaurant. Liked the food and good lambrusco wine to go with it! Friendly staff.

Delicious food, great service and extremely full bellies! Can't wait to go back!!! Definitely get the bottomless basket of gnocco frittos with the meat and cheese and ham spreads!! It's one of the best I had my 3 weeks in Italy!

Navigli area is full of blah restaurants, we were said we would have to wait 30 minutes and it was totally worth it! Great value for money, very good food and good service :) definitely will come back!

What a great service and pleasant people! The atmosphere is relaxed and good. The food is amazing, loved the mixed ham and cheese, with their homemade jam!! They don't speak a lot of English, but it doesn't matter, you come a long way with hand signals!! Go there! It is really that good!

This restaurant seems to specialise in cheeses and meats which means choice is limited for vegetarians by comparison with most Italian restaurants where there is usually a very wide choice of dishes. We found the service to be good, but the food was not special and did not justify the relatively high price. We did, however, like the gnocco fritto.

There are a million restaurants in Milan....this one stands out. No need to pre book on a weeknight. The place had a lovely atmosphere and the food was out of this world. One of the best meals we have had in Italy. The food here feels genuinely Italian and not just the usual tourist trap rubbish

Stumbled across this place after feeling a bit overwhelmed with choice in this area and made a quick decision in the end - but so pleased we ended up here! I'm pregnant so cured meats and soft cheese are generally a bit of a no-go, so was just going to have a bowl of pasta. However their specialities are these... More

The waiters were so nice and helpful, let us try different wines before going buying a bottle. Huge portions and good food. Would definitely recommend

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
