Starting from the service ending with the food everything was just simple the best. Highly recommend one dish from menu which is mix of gnocchi, risotto and pasta. Combine it with local bottle of wine and you will have one of best lunch you will ever had.

Whenever I come to Milan I absolutely go for dinner at Giardinetto. The people are nice and warm. The food is so good and tasty. And the price is very affordable.

This place is just unbelievable. A family restaurant with amazing traditional food, without any compromise or greed. The owners of this place are two old brothers how are the salt and pepper of the restaurant. They will serve you at the table, they will recommend you the best things ever and will give you the family secret recipe digestive. Try... More

Again we struck gold on Via Tortona. This section of this unassuming little street heading toward the bridge over the tracks to Porta Genova is a dining mecca. This restaurant is a place to experience the foods that make Milan famous. All home made pastas, and amazing wine list with great values. The main courses of meats and fish are... More

Unassuming entrance off Tortona but a splendid place inside. Somewhat bullied onto our choice of dishes but all were fantastic. Service was outstanding. Will certainly suggest that friends and colleagues visiting the area take time to drop in for dinner.

The restaurant was recommended to us by friends who have lived in Milan all their lives. They said very good food, not too expensive. As you walk in, it seems never-ending. We sat at the far end, and were relieved that our conversation was not drowned out by other diners or music. The service was excellent. The cover charge of... More

Together with 3 old friends we had dinner at "Antica Osteria" il giardinetto on Monday May 5th. Though the ambience is a bit outdated and did not preannounce anything special I shall admit this has been probably the second best restaurant I have tested this year. We started with a delicious choice of Salami, Coppa, Pancetta and culatello together with... More

Wow! Reasonable prices for an excellent dinner with typical antipasti and home mada pastas directly from the Piacenza area. With friendly services and mouthwatering desserts made directly at the table (the tiramisu is probably the best I have ever tried in my life). Thumbs up, even more considering that the restaurant is in via Tortona, the heart of the Milanese... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
