Freshly cooked food. You can definitely taste every ingredient put into each meal. The cook even take the share recipes and explain the concept of the restaurant. Worth every money spent. My only disappointment is that I did not had the time to taste all...the menu. Top :)More

Il Coccio is a casual, relaxed gastro-café to grab a bite to eat in a fascinating part of Bergamo, Via St. Alessandro. The owner Sherri, and staff are super friendly and accommodating. The level of cuisine found here rivals the best we've had in our...travels and is a real bargain for what they offer - super tender, tiny octopus (moscardini) in a delightful sauce over white polenta, baccalà mantecato, or crepes in a light béchamel with radicchio tardivo and taleggio. The menu is seasonal, changing every few days, so there is always something new to try, as well as classics you can rely on such as their awesome lasagnas, soups, stuffed savory pastries (saccioccio), house-made pan brioche, marmalades and desserts. The cuisine includes a mix of Bergamasco favorites and Italian staples with a light, creative touch. The quality of everything is consistently high and healthy too, locally sourced. There are always interesting vegetable sides to choose from that can be made into a main, with gluten-free and dairy-free options as well. Everything is available for take-away or delivery, which in these times, has been so nice to have. But if you'd like to eat in, there are a couple of small tables and a counter to sit at, self-service. Reservations recommended during peak hours. Very highly recommended!More

You should definitely come soon. It is cooked and once it is gone, it is gone. The restaurant is open daily only for a short time. Especially great is that is traditionally cooked from organic farming. Also the cutlery and the plates ... everything is...recyclable! It tastes very good!More

Little place full of charm and full of locals. Selling Italian homefood prepared with lots of love. Although the place was packed, the lady serving at the counter was super frienldy and took the time to explain everything. I shared with my wife a soup of...courgette with lemon and breadcrumbs, a vegetarian lasagna and a saccocio(dough filled with veggies). everything was absolutely delicious. The place is worth it´s high rating, and just be prepared if you come during Italian lunch hours, you might have to wait to get a seating as it also is a local favorite.More

First of all, this is not a restaurant to sit and enjoy the place itself. First of all it is "semi-selfservice", there is no table service here. You get your grub on a plate which you can season or warm (if it a cold meal)...as you wish. There are hot plates also. The offering is not enormous, but has enough to pick and it is very tasty. The staff (the girl that worked there) was very helpful and was probably the best English speaker we met during the week in Italy. I can only (slightly) criticize the price. The food is great and the TripAdvisor rating probably gives it its appeal, but the price might be just a bit lower for the offering.More

We came upon this place by accident since everything else was closed after 2:30 and it was a treat. Who knew microwaved chicken can taste so good! The food is local and prepared fresh. You just need to warm it up and it’s ready to...go. It is mostly a take away place but they do have some minimal seating available. It was perfect for the 7 of us. Lasagna was fantastic, chicken was amazing and kids asked for seconds as soon as they were done with the first portion. Farina and tomato salad was super good and the soup was so good everyone wanted to get one. Complimentary bread and excellent desert (try grape flan) was a perfect end to a super fresh, very tasty and quick lunch. The service is also fantastic. The woman behind the counter treated us like old friends rather than another bunch of tired tourists. She spent time explaining everything and helped with everyone’s order. They have good selection of local beers to top everything off. Definitely a place to visit regardless whether other places are opened or not.More

After seeing almost 500 positive reviews this place couldn't go wrong - great food and super nice, English speaking personnel. Every possible fish was explained to me in English, I was offered tones of useful information concerning city tour, WiFi etc. And you can take...half of the dish, which is great coz you can try more of them. Recommend!More

The lady working there was so kind and helpful and you could tell she had a lot of pride in what she was serving. The flavors are very unusual but good and definitely fresh! It was a nice stop on our busy day! We got...there right when it opened and it was not crowded at all but when we walked by an hour later it was packed!!More
