Without a doubt one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The food is excellent and a joy to look at, you can tell that each individual dish is prepared with loving hands. The waitress was helpful and efficient and the owner very accomodating,(one of our party was in a wheelchair which proved to be no problem whatsoever.) I have lived in this area over 30 years and am so used to the ordinary, overpriced food prepared for the tourists that I rarely eat out in the summer months, but this reatautant really took me by surprise. I would highly recommend going there. I will definitely be going back.

This was one of the most memorable meals we had in Italy. This restaurant has a "you get what you get" attitude and we loved it. We enjoyed wine with our multi-course meal and experienced so many different flavors and textures during the course of the meal. We highly recommend this spot -- it's filled with locals and families who know this is a fantastic restaurant.

We visited this restaurant as we were staying near by and the reviews looked great. Was fantastic, had 5 starters then 3 mains and 1 dessert! Great way to experience different Italian food after loads of pasta on a daily basis. Would definitely recommend it!

I went there basically due to the excellent reviews on trip advisor that surprised me since I remember that restaurant as an average, nothing special place 10+ years ago when I went there. What a great surprise indeed to see their nice formula of one menu appetizer-to-digestive with very creative and good plates 27E each (drink excluded) so quite pricey but worth it Only negative point the location...(middle of nowhere) if it was downtown it would be perfect

This restaurant was recommended by a student of mine. She informed me the atmosphere was "particolare" "ricercato"and the dishes "raffinate" and "curate". I can only confirm the validity of her opinion. What a delight, what a feast for one's taste-buds. Each dish, impeccably presented. By the time dessert arrived my dearest companion and I, thought it couldn't possibly get any better-but it did! But first of all let me start at the beginning. The restaurant itself, from the outside, is utterly ordinary and could lead one to believe it is a common trattoria, specializing in a typical Ligurian cuisine with the ubiquitous lasagne, ravioli, tagliatelle, and cotolette that one usually expects from these institutions. Good solid home made food. No! You would be hugely mistaken! It is far far superior; the quality and the originality of Elsa's (the chef) dishes are unique, delightful, adventurous albeit genuine and non-threatening. This is not a pretentious minimalist haute cuisine that leaves its clients ravenous and far poorer. The menu is one only. You have to accept what they offer, unconditionally, as a child knows instinctively his or her parents know best, you, the customer, must have faith. The only choice you are allowed is to choose whether to come on a Thursday or Friday for a menu based on fish, or arrive on any other day of the week, for the inspired "terra" (meat and vegetable) recipes. My companion and I arrived on the Sunday 20th March. We had booked a table at 12.30-booking is essential. As I mentioned earlier, the menu is set and this is usually five "anti-pasti", two first courses, a main dish and then dessert. We were concerned that we would be unable to meet the deadline, but the portions are, in a word, perfect. Beware time is slow, you will not be waiting interminably between one dish and another but you will find the time to talk to your partner-go with someone whose company you enjoy! We left our seats at 3.00pm... The indoor decor is floral, tasteful, refined, elegant and very feminine. I was not aware of any outdoor seating. This more than made up for the disappointing surrounding area, the view is plainly uninspiring and quite depressing. Don't expect to see spectacular sea fronts-go either to Portovenere or Lerici. However, the minute you enter you do feel comfortable and reassured. Ahhh the "pietanze", the dishes, the exquisite amalgamations of flavours, sublime! The truffle polpette (meat ball) was...heavenly. I swear I have never tasted anything more sublime, more delicious. Then the chick peas crepes with the lightest of pure lard slices, slowly melted, which your tongue and your senses cried with gratitude. The spaghetti; with a rich, creamy pesto of broccoli and walnuts-to die for! The pork ravioli, yes, in the end there were ravioli, were divine. My companion especially appreciated the thick red tasty Chianina sauce. Then there was the tagliata with red sea salt, and stir fried artichoke slices. Could it get better? Yes. Dessert. Usually I skip dessert. I am not a aficionado of sweets but this, I had to taste... I trusted my carers. I opted for blueberry panna cotta, my darling companion, picked the crema pasticciere, with an aubergine slice and chocolate sauce. How weird was that? We fed each other, I feel my boyfriend had the upper hand, his dessert was mouthwatering, unbelievably good. Mine, delicate, almost ethereal. I had to refrain from tasting his any further. In short, this is one of the best restaurants in La Spezia I have been to. The price was 32 euros per head, including the house wine and coffee. Well worth the price.

I've been dining at this place for years and it never misses a beat!! I don't live in the area so I take advantage of it whenever I can, and in my opinion it is confirmed as the best restaurant in the city. Always different menus, excellent quality, always available staff and excellent quality/price ratio. The peculiarity is the ingenuity of the chef who amazes with every dish with ingenious and unexpected combinations! I can not wait to come back!!

We went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, with my partner and my in-laws.... what can I say, we ate very fresh and excellently cooked fish. Five courses of appetizer, a first course, a second course and dessert..... it was all to die for, the dessert was the icing on the cake, Chantilly cream with strawberries in a puff pastry basket, I was almost excited while eating This dessert, apart from the fact that I love Chantilly cream, was truly sublime, I wish it would never end... what a delight. The very helpful staff kindly brought us two more portions of pasta which we greatly appreciated. Thank you Elsa for the unforgettable dinner, we will definitely return in the future even though my partner and I live in Rome.

I had dinner with my wife last night, March 7th. Nice evening in a quiet and welcoming environment, very kind and knowledgeable staff. The menu of the evening was seafood, fixed and made up of 5 starters, a first course, a second course and a dessert. All the dishes are very carefully prepared and presented in an exceptional way. Congratulations to chef Elsa for the unusual but very successful combinations. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. An experience definitely worth repeating. Marco

We were invited by my husband's cousin, who lives in Arcola, to his golden wedding party with his wife Marina, together with other relatives and friends, and we ate in this restaurant, which has a not particularly happy location, being located on the street, in front of an abandoned former military building. Although the exterior was not particularly fascinating, upon entering the room it revealed itself to be very elegant and welcoming, with a huge ficus benjamin towering in the center, white chandeliers, a piano and large and small mirrors on the walls and lots of light. However, we were not prepared for the wonders of the “Cantiere d'Elsapore”! One starter after another, 5 times we had surprises with unusual and very pleasant combinations (purple potato parmentier with sour cream and pea shoots, tartare with beetroot and onion, pork loin in carpaccio with blueberry sauce, breast of 'duck with fennel and orange puree...) and then two first courses of handmade pasta with artichokes and thyme and orange zest and wild boar ragout, braised in Barolo to finish with the diplomatic cake, zabaglione and gianduia, served with a very fragrant Malvasia! The other wines that accompanied the meal were excellent Piedmontese wines produced by one of the guests. We can only conclude that it was a surprise from start to finish and that this place is in all respects worth a visit even in a season more suited to fish menus to test the skills and inventiveness of this Elsa, woman exceptional
