A quick stop for a late lunch after a tour of the city. It was the recommendation of out city guide. Great food at great prices in a friendly atmosphere. Fresh and delicious! Unfortunately when we went they were already out of pizza and focaccia!...Very disappointed, but understood since they turned off their ovens for a break from the heat before firing them up again for the night crowd. They easily accommodated our party of 4, menu is available in English.More

What a find! This restaurant was recommended by our hotel receptionist and it turned out to be a real gem. We liked it so much, we went back the next evening for dinner. We thought it was a very good sign when we saw only...Italians eating, and people were queuing outside at 10pm. We asked to eat inside rather than outside under the motorway where it was rather dark. This is not fine dining: it’s noisy and people are enjoying themselves, waiters and waitresses are running to and fro yelling at each other over the hubbub. It’s great. This is genuine Italian cooking at its best. We ordered linguine alla scoglio and it was wonderful: the flavours were so good and there was a lot of seafood that came with it. It was so big that there was no room for secondi. All for €10 a serving! The second night we dined there was a Sunday. It was still extremely busy and people were coming in to eat at 22.50! To start with, we enjoyed Ravioli vongole e scampi and Panciotti capesante e gamberi con pomodoro fresco e basilico. Fantastic flavours in the sauces that you MUST sop up with bread. It’d be a crime to leave it. Mains were Grigliata di pesce, a generous serving of fish, and Ombrina al forno su purea do asparagi e patate e vongole saltate in padella. Dessert was Tiramisu. Wonderful, just wonderful! Can’t wait to get back there.More

We had to wait like 1 hour for our order. When the order arrived, the waitress didn’t sait hello, didn’t ask anything, she inversed the order , didn’t say good appetite and then left. The pasta didn’t come with Parmesan cheese so we ask to...the waitress if she could bring the Parmesan, she ignored us , then I asked to another waitress we waited like 20min and nothing, so I went to the kitchen … they give me the Parmesan and then it was a nightmare. When we were eating the waitress came to our table to snatch (take away without manners) the Parmesan … in the middle of our table!!!!!! And then she put it in another table with the same spoon the same cheese in a middle of a pandemic. So first it was rude to take away something of a customer’s table without telling nothing without asking if we finished Second, 0 hygiene because we are in times of a pandemic crisis I mean, we regret have eaten in this restaurant. TO AVOID!!!!!!!More

Very nice place to have a proper Italian food on recommendation of a good Italian friend. We had octopus salad for starter and octopus bruschetta. And for the mains, lobster tortellini and mixed meat. The mixed meat did not come with any side dish and...the staff did not warn us. Unfortunately even though the food was very good the staff is mediocre and not so friendly. 3 times asked 3 different waitors to bring olive oil. And also the beer order had to repeat 3 times.More

It's a traditional trattoria with a nice atmosphet and a good range of pizza, pasta and seafood dishes. Portions are generous we ended up taking some food home. I particularly liked the farinata with pesto and the octopus and potato salad. It was before christmss...and we had to book to get a table even for lunch.More

My family and I came in without a reservation and they nicely accomodated us despite that. Service was very friendly and food came out quite quickly! The orata was great, ombrina even better (even if they told us no bones because we asked for the...kids but we found quite a few!) my husband’s grigliata was fresh, with good pieces of fish. I even ordered another one! All at a very reasonable price! All the dishes that came out looked delicious... a very good find! Complimenti!More

Last evening in Italy for the time being so you can't really leave without having a pizza. So given this I was looking for a place to have a pizza - so I found this: location - via del Molo - close to the port...- close to the aquarium , still no parking on the premisses so you can find a place nearby and walk there. Good seating capacity still you might want to make reservations to be sure you have a table. They open at 19:00 so don't get there earlier! Smoking not allowed - so take yourself outside to light 1 up. Service - good waiter work - nice in all aspects - prompt with the orders so overall excellent in all aspects. Food - very good food - menu very extensive - they have more than 40 pizza's on the menu most "interesting" is the 1 called Spongebob with fries, weird still tasty. Also the squid ink pasta was a nice thing on the menu. Beside these you have fish, beef, pork you name it; and a nice variety on the menu - allergens also listed in relation to the dishes so you can choose accordingly if you have allergy issues. The mixed seafood "antipasti" was also very good. In terms of wines they have a great selection - but also they have several beers - so you can have a lot of choices. Prices - very pocket friendly - I had seafood, a pizza and like 3-4 beers and everything was 30 euro - excellent value for money I have to say. They accept credit card - and you pay at the "counter" on your way out. Overall this place is another very good option in Genoa - I recommend you try it.More

We arrived in the evening of the 20th of August. The girl working outside was extremely rude with no manners and she almost kicked us out. We only insisted staying because my girlfriend had seen in the menu a plate that she liked. The food...wasn't bad though neither the prices that's why I am not putting one star.More

I was wondering the streets of Genoa, perhaps around 11 p.m. Nothing was open. I turned the corner and found this gem. I waited 10-15 minutes to be seated, which was a bit of a hassle...but not a problem. I only had a simple vegetarian...pasta and frozen gelato dessert. EXCELLENT. Simple. Elegant. Italian. Most impressed and would DEFINITELY return.More

This is my second time visiting the restaurant, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The bread basket includes slices of farinata, a Genovese chickpea flour flatbread, and la Locanda's is one of the tastiest. We followed this with two more classics of...Genovese cuisine: mandilli in pesto sauce and pansoti in nut sauce. We also had the pear and gorgonzola ravioli. All three were elegantly presented and very tasty. For the main course, we had the meat mixed grill and the seafood mixed grill. These simple dishes were beautifully plated and, because of their simplicity, allowed us to taste the authentic flavours of the proteins, with just a spritz of lemon to highlight their tastes. We paired the meal with the house wine, the Nero d'Avola, which had some wonderfully fruity notes. We ended the meal with the tart but sweet, palate-cleansing lemon sorbet, and the sweet and crunchy torroncino semifreddo dressed with a dark caramel. The service was very friendly, and the food arrived in a very timely manner without feeling rushed or too slow.More

First time visiting Genoa, my sister and I don't speak a lot of Italian, but we can get by. The waitress was so patient with us and even offered suggestions. We didn't realize it's the norm to eat an entire pizza by yourself, I wish...I had! It was the best pizza I've ever eaten. We even returned the next night for more, this time trying the seafood and pasta, equally delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful, truly a gem of a restaurant!More

The restaurant is located in the Old Harbour area leaving behind Piazza Caricamento from the Aquarium in the direction of the rehabilitated harbour area by Renzo Piano's architectural marvels. Moderately priced for high quality typical local cuisine. Food comes fresh in good portions. Seafood dishes...are typically Genoese, especially where pasta dishes with bottarga are concerned. A good selection of Ligurian wines features on the wine list which makes the eating experience in this restaurant even more interesting. The restaurant is spacious, decorated in a contemporary style, family friendly, with a very helpful staff. The restaurant offers a wide selection of pizzas with typical ligurian ingredients.More

When you dine in a restaurant in Genoa which is full and the staff struggles with English, then you are onto a local gem. La Locanda del Molo is a prime example. I was here with a colleague on business and the food and service...was superb. I had the mussel soup starter, which was large, delicious and very fresh. My partner had the trofie with pesto, potatoes and green beans which was expertly prepared. I had the fried calamari, shrimp and prawns main course. Again this was very fresh, expertly prepared and reasonably priced. My partner had the tuna fillet in sesame crust main, which was as good. Highly recommended, vibey restaurant that will not break the bank.More
