We had a great meal in this authentic restaurant in the old city of Genova. We LOVED the pasta with seafood sauce and the REAL Genovese pesto WoooW , also the frizzante table white wine was very good.

We stopped here for a couple of portions of farinata (one with gorgonzola) and spaghetti for one of the kids. It was exactly as I hoped it would be: unpretentious, non-touristy, no frills, efficient service, good value. Lovely house wine. Personally I found the cheese...farinata a bit rich + would have liked a salad with it, but it was perfect for a quick lunch and I appreciated the chap behind the counter offering me a taste of the torta di riso to try when he saw me looking at it in the window!More

From the outside it looks like a take away deli but walk in and in the back you will find a few tables. It was constantly busy when we were there and the rickety wooden tables were charming as were the crockery on the walls....It was full of locals - friends, business lunch, families - and we were happy to tsake the lead of the server who (after we asked) recommended the Antipasti of assorted Torte (a speciality of the area) which was a delicious array (especially the local Farinata). I had a hearty Minestrone soup (it could have been a little hotter) and my husband the Mushroom Tagitelle. Please make time for this local rustic eatery.More

I live in Genoa and make Genoese dishes mysel , so I think that when it comes to local cuisine I'm quite a good judge. This is really an excellent place for anyone who wants to experience Genoese food. The prices are also reasonable. I...highly recommend it.More

This is a upscale restaurant. Very easy to locate and children friendly. There is a hands on pesto class but you have to sign up at the tourist center and it's around 10$ but I just say the had its well worth it.

I came here for dinner after 1 year and I can sadly say that the restaurant doesn’t serve anymore good and quality food. The farinata remains really good and probably its signature dish, so no complaints about it. However, the vegetable tarts and the desserts...were not good at all, causing to all of us stomachache after dinner. The tiramisù was basically liquid and the vegetables tart have lost their original flavor, you could taste that something in the ingredients was not good. I use to love this place for delivering high quality and tasty food of the Ligurian tradition but something has definitely changed and I wouldn’t recommend it anymore.More

We got a map from tourist information and were doing a DIY Genova walking tour. When we got to the cathedral, it was closed for siestas. So we just walked around the nearby side streets and got totally lost. Then, by chance, we came across...this little place with a long queue that went round the corner and we could see and smell the food being cooked at the front of the restaurant. We joined the queue and the food did not disappoint. It was so fresh, tasty and wonderful. The restaurant had a warm and cosy atmosphere. Although we couldn’t speak a word of Italian, the staff and fellow diners were very friendly and we were made very welcomed. We really enjoyed the experience.More

Wonderful busy atmosphere, with ovens up front and lots of tables (unusual in a street food-ish place) Excellent farinata, torta salata but also excellent trofie al pesto and dolci. Great place for a light meal of classic Genovese cooking.

We visit Sa Pesta in the old part of Genova was no need to use Google Map because this place in very popular with the local and the queue outside give us an indication we were near. Little bubbly establishment old place for over 130...years. Our waiter Mario was very helpful on what to suggest and very friendly to exchange a chat between dishes. We had the local mix dishes of farinacci. Very typical and well executed cooked in the wood fire oven a dish typical and original of Genova. Mario suggested as a secondo polpettini in umido with a sugetto al pomodoro fantastic well cooked very tasty. We finish with a homemade Tirami su con Frutti di Bosco and espresso. Fantastic meal fantastic experience and excellent service. Well done. Highly recommended must try if you are in Genova.More

We followed a local recommendation. This place only opens for lunch and only traditional food. Basic but excellent food: farinatas, pasta and fish dishes. We were the only foreigners that day and enjoyed this authentic experience a lot.
