Great restaurant on one of those romantic narrow streets Genoa is so famous. Suitable for casual dining.

Discovered this place by chance after a walk in the city. We arrived 15 minutes before opening time but despite being very busy the staff showed real hospitality by serving already some drinks. This set the tone for the rest of the evening. Very nice...food (we took the suggestions on the menu and these were really superb), nice wine and good atmosphere. I didn’t even have to use my rusty Italian as everyone was fluently speaking English. As McArthur said ‘we shall return’.More

Steak was fantastic, the tomatoes in this place and this region are out of this world! Amazing service, English speaking, staff has a great personality. I had a lovely time

I have been again to Prie Rosse. The staff is very kind, the service is quite dedicated, the wines are good and nor very expensive. There are several good local dishes plus some new proposals. The dinner I had was simple, some dishes were very...good (mandilly and foie gras), some others had small problems: one was slightly acid and the restaurant kindly decided to take it off from the invoice, while a pasta had too much lemon rind along with the meat but we openly discussed this with the owner and cook. The desserts were good. So, the restaurant is generally good and serius, but if you notice something problematic tell it openly to the owner.More

After reading all good reviews and with a recommendation from our hotel , we paid a visit here on our last night with high expectations . Both ordered fillet steak , one medium and one medium-well done , with specific request of no blood ....Both meals arrived , one steak sent straight back as first two mouthfuls not able to chew through the meat , the other steak arrived on a plate with blood , clearly under cooked and with cold mashed potatoes. Manager / waiter reluctantly agreed to replace meals , both steaks cooked correctly but with absolutely no flavour at all , tasteless peppercorn sauce and the other steak with cold fries . Not once were we asked if everything was ok with the replacement steaks and when we paid the bill I told The manager that we were very disappointed and would be writing a review to which he replied that it didn't bother him as he would remove the review before anyone could see it ! Not sure this is how reviews on trip advisor works , but if you hopefully get to see this review , AVOID this establishment .More

We came across this delightful restaurant on our first night in Genoa. It appeared very popular so we decided to call in. Very helpful staff, varied menu and delicious food ( huge portions) ensured our first night was a memorable one! Highly Recommend

We asked our receptionist (Hotel Bristol Palace) where she would eat sometimes, she stated Eprie Rosse was used by locals and some tourists.. she was spot on... We went there on our first night in Genoa, the pastas, meats and wine were all fabulous. The...desserts were also great. The staff were really friendly and approachable, most spoke excellent English and if not they asked for a colleague to help and that was fine. My limited Italian vocabulary and an attempt to use it was appreciated 😃 We went back again three nights later, it was that good ! When we did, we were met with warm smiles, a reserved table (the one in the open window) as this was our wedding anniversary meal. Again fabulous service, we tried new dishes including steaks, sauces and new deserts. Awesome Italian Prosecco was also enjoyed.. Then to our surprise the lights went down, and a cake with a candle and a warm happy anniversary were given to us, what a nice touch ... The prices are NOT expensive, even more so when you consider the food was of such good quality. The atmosphere of this place is also to be enjoyed, they play suitable quiet background music, people talking and laughing.. it really was / is great place to eat and relax with fab food 😋 We would like to thank all the chefs and kitchen staff, you can see them working hard and they gave us a wave when we thanked them for their efforts as we left .... Staff of note .... Raquel & Mercy served us and looked after us on the last night. Thank you ladies, a warm welcome, great service and your restaurant is exactly what we were hoping and looking for. Please pass on our thanks to all your colleagues. We will be booking that window table if we return to Genoa xMore

Very well prepared, fresh and tasty food. Loved the gnochi. The secondo was a very well prepared, albeit huge, cotelet with an italian version of sauerkraut. Staff very kind and in general a good atmosphere. The house wine was unfortunately not as good as the...food. There was no room after the primo and secondo for a dolce, so we came back the next day for just that. Had a lovely sweet desert wine and a very good chestnut cake, with again very friendly service. To be recommended!More
