Il Pirata delle Cinque Terre efficiently catered to us before our departure to the airport. The culinary experience at this establishment is nothing short of extraordinary, with dishes prepared authentically and executed to perfection. Our selection included pasta adorned with walnut sauce and truffle cream,...alongside delectable gnocchi featuring Ligurian pesto. To conclude our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in an irresistible fresh cannoli that served as the perfect finale to a superb dining experience, and Cinque Terre visit. For those seeking an exceptional culinary adventure, I enthusiastically recommend making a stop at Il Pirata delle Cinque Terre. The combination of authentic flavors, meticulous preparation, and a delightful atmosphere makes it a memorable diningMore

OK, so this may not have a view of the sea, but frankly we didn't need that, we wanted good food and friendly service. All you have to do is walk a couple of minutes up the hill from the centre of Vernazza in the...opposite direction from the station to the route all the tourists take and you stumble across a residential street with a couple of restaurants. In September, it was still very hot, and we were delighted to find a seat outside with a bit of shade, watching the people walk by, and chatting to our fellow French and American diners on the tables next to us, the atmosphere was buzzing and while we deliberately turned up early just before mid-day to get a table without a reservation, it was very quickly packed out with guests, much like the rest of Vernazza, and it's easy to see why... We had a linguini frutti di mare and a salmone alla griglia and both were cooked to perfection and very generous portion sizes. We shared a bottle of the local Lunae Vermentino Bianco which was a delight, and a perfect accompaniment to seafood dishes. We followed this up by sharing their tiramisu which was a yummy end to a lovely, relaxed meal with very good service. All in was 70 Euros for 2 people including the wine and service which we thought was incredible value for great food and a fabulous all round experience in a very popular tourist destination. Overall, very highly recommended :-)More

My coworker told me about this spot. She said that it was a MUST and I MUST agree! It was the first place we saw as we walked into town with our luggage in tow. We were lured in by the Sicilian cannoli and still...dream about it. Service was great and everyone was truly happy to welcome us. This was the beginning of our 2 week trip, but it will never be forgotten! This Washington, DC group will return!!More

We recently enjoyed dining at Il Pirata and loved it. The staff is lovely and engaging. Breakfast is amazing with a large variety of freshly baked goods, great coffee, and the best cannolis in the Cinque Terra. Wish we had been able to try them...for lunch.More

WOW! We have been in Italy for 8 days and lots of towns and cities but this was by far our best dining experience. We had breakfast here and enjoyed it so much that we came back for a late lunch/early dinner here. They close...at 5:00. Everyone was friendly and engaging. The food was fresh and had amazing flavors. Highly recommend the seafood risotto. We were instructed by the owner that we "had to have the best cannolo and panna cotta", and he was correct. I wanted to lick the plates. If you are in Cinque Terre make a stop at Il Pirata. The owners have really created a special place.More

Superb breakfast, the best in town. Delicious croissants and cannoli with surprising combinations of toppings. And loved the scrambled eggs, fresh juice. Good service from friendly staff, and very funny and entertaining owners.

As usual this is the best food in Vernazza. Whether breakfast or “lunch” it a must stop. While the view is a parking lot, that doesn’t matter as the food far exceeds anything down the hill. A gem. Highly recommended and encouraged.

Was walking through the Cinque Terre and found this place. It was back from the main area and was fantastic. The Chef gave good recommendations. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend this.

Il Pirata are no longer open in the evenings so based on the TA reviews we went to try their breakfast. We ordered a two scrambled eggs & bacon breakfasts along with a couple of pastries from the selection available. The cooked breakfasts were not...large for the 10 Euro price and when I paid at the till I was surprised how much we had been changed. There was no itemised bill, but the owner was such a lovely guy I didn't like to ask for a break-down. The pastries were good, but having said that we had a lot of wonderful pastries in the Cinque Terre so you can find similar elsewhere in town. I'm told Il Pirata have a lot of returning customers and they were very busy while we were there, but unfortunately I'm not convinced we got value for money in our case.More

We were going to order bruschetta and pasta with mixed seafood and risotto with seafood. The owner came over and recommended exactly what we were thinking. Everything was great! The seafood was so fresh and tender. Then, we had two of their homemade desserts as...per the owner’s recommendation. Hands down the best cannolis I have ever had and the panna cotta was fantastic too! You can taste how freshly made the cream is. Instead of the typical heavy ricotta filling of a cannoli, this Sicilian chef’s cream is much lighter. The panna cotta cream is also much lighter than most panna cotta’s I’ve had and tasted more akin to whip cream. Highly recommend both. We wish we were staying another day so we can eat here again.More

Fabulous food. Best so Far in Italy. I had Gnocchi with a walnut and truffle crème sauce. So good ask for the recipient. My husband had Soaghetti Bolognaise/Ragu. He loved the flavour. Going back before we leave Vernazza.

This was a fantastic place. Best pastries in Cinque Terre. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Had scrambled eggs ( not an Italian staple) and they were fantastic! The owners and employees are delightful. They are so pleasant and friendly. This place is not in the...main square of Vernazza but easy to find. Strongly recommend you visit when in Cinque Terre.More
