Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Because this restaurant is the closest to the water, people love it… But in reality, the quality of the food is POOR and it is Overpriced! Taking advantage of the most beautiful location, they do such a disservice to the visitor. A real shame. We...have been in Riomaggiore before, and felt lucky to get the corner table with unobstructed VIEW. We expected to overpay for the privilege, but we also expected delicious food. Not the case. Uneatable meat and old fish….. ugh Unfortunately, Cinque terre has become SO crowded and overpriced. What a shame !More

Incredible fresh seafood, local anchovies, and more. Beautiful setting in marina. Get a table in the evening, watch the sky change, look at the rising jumble of houses. Do not miss this place!

The view/location is all that can be recommended. The every dish was extremely salty and not beautifully presented. And the service was rude and uncaring about customer experience.

I think this restaurant really only succeeds due to the view. In terms of service and food, don't waste your precious time. We were seated after about 15 minutes after attempting to ask 3 different people if they could help us and were totally ignored....Once seated, the moody male waiter who helped us told us we had to order 2 meals when we tried to order one meal ( my hubby loves seafood, but I couldn't find anything that I wanted). Whatever, I guess they have to enforce spending to pay the rent for the "good view" restaurant. I got the pesto spaghetti, and hubby got the seafood sampler. Then, this moody waiter brought us bread. No plates. We asked for oil and vinegar twice- then finally got it. Still no plates.. We asked for a plate, and he brought us one big bowl. Seriously?? The food arrived and was practically inedible. I ate about 5 bites of the spaghetti, and that was it for me. My hubby loves anything seafood and could barely choke down his meal. To add insult to injury, they charged 11 euros for the bread - a bread that is just given to everyone whether you ask or not. If you really feel the need to gouge, at least give people a heads-up. After over 100 euros later, we felt ripped off, jaded, and still hungry.More

Was recommended by our host, who made reservations for us. We then read the reviews and were concerned about service, among other things. However, the service was excellent. Our server even participated in a surprise engagement at the table next to ours , making the...experience very enjoyable and festive. The food was among the best we had during our stay in Italy and the setting, next to the harbor is very nice.More

Our experience was pretty bad here, and we would not recommend it. My husband reserved a table earlier in the day. When we arrived, no one spoke to us for 5 minutes, ignoring us entirely. Then, when they finally deigned to speak to us, the...claimed our reservation was now void as they’d “tried to call us to confirm”. We didn’t receive a call as we were out for the day and had assumed it was locked in. If they were going to call to confirm, they should have communicated this at time of reservation so we knew to keep a phone on us. When we got there, we tried to order glasses of wine instead of a bottle as my husband wanted red, and I wanted white. They said they’d run out. Then, when they brought out the wine we could order, it was the wrong one. I tried to order the beef as I’m allergic to seafood, but they also said they’d run out. So with that not available, there was only one option I could order. In the end we just got pastas and a glass of wine each, and it was 70ish Euro ($125 AUD) which was totally not worth it. Avoid this place.More

Location is amazing in the port of Riomaggiore. Staff was very helpful and very pleasant. Menu was great, wine list is a bit too expensive compared to other places and same product but it thanks for the magic location :-)

Would absolutely never return here. I've never written a negative review before but felt I needed to after feeling so belittled. The food was nice, however the staff made me feel like I wanted to leave straight away. I stayed due to our accomodation securing...us a spot and hoped things would change after not feeling very well greeted. I asked for balsamic vinegar to go with the bread we were served, only to be told 'no, you only ordered a shared meal you can't have anything'. After paying the bill I found we were still charged €3.50 for the bread, so it's not as if it was free. We shared a meal and a bottle of wine between two of us and as a result we're treated terribly. The staff spoke about it in front of us rolling their eyes and sniggering, an awful experience and treatment from a restaurant that have such a high certificate. Not sure how or why they were awarded. We were also charged €4.50 each for a sitting fee.More

We Do NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! We made a reservation in person two days before which was screwed up by them or was screwed up on purpose? We asked for a nice two seating which was confirmed by the server for our last night in...Riomaggiore Italy, but was told we requested a four seating. We definitely did not! We did an in person reservation for two people and the person who we did the reservation with knew it, who was there that night, but dismissed us and told us to talk to someone else. When we arrived, we were not pleasantly dealt with, we told them it was always only for a two person reservation, but then received arguments that we made a four seating and were given a less desirable seating location. Should have stayed with their “alleged” four as it would have cost them more as our two ghost friends would not have arrived! Sucks that we were honest! I never usually write in a pessimistic way, but this restaurant’s team is shady and judgmental! SAD as it is extremely expensive for the value and in my opinion the experience that you hope for to make up for the value of the food, really lacked!!! We DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!More

My family of 8 just wandered into this place because we were in the harbour. The food was fantastic. The wine was fantastic. It wasn't cheap but afterwards I noticed that it was a Michelin star restaurant. It's the cheapest Michelin star restaurant I've ever...seen. Totally worth it.More

My family and I went there for dinner. I have a baby and the waitress didn't want the stroller in the restaurant. But where do I put the stroller??? We then ordered an appetizer, a first course and a second course and it all arrived...together despite the fact that the table was very small. At the end of the dinner, we paid in cash and were not given a receipt.More

The food was SO GOOD! Had the anchovies first then pasta with pesto and concluded with the catch of the day. All locally caught or made. The bread was still warm! Make reservations. Our local hosts told us it was their favorite place to eat....We now understand why.More

We didn’t read the reviews which is good because we might not have eaten here! We spotted a table in the most picturesque view spot probably in all of Riomaggiore and asked if we could take it. The lady bluntly said only if we we’re...eating- which we were and was fair enough as it is a restaurant rather than a bar. The girl that served us was lovely- beautiful smile that never left her face:) we had a lovely meal and bottle of wine and sat there most of afternoon enjoying the view. Even though they closed shortly after serving us, they said we were fine to stay and enjoy our wine. It was quite expensive and high cover charge but to be honest the food was good, the most amazing view and location wise the closest spot to the harbour. Really enjoyed it.More

We went there as it was recommended by our host, although we always check reviews before booking, including TripAdvisor. Staff was a bit rude from our arrival and unattentive during our meal. Dishes were not impressive, just average and overpriced. It was a shock to...see that the bill included € 4.50 “copperto” per person. The “copperto” only had bread!!! Possibly the most expensive slices of bread we’ve ever had….More

We had reservations for 2 at 9pm. We stood waiting for 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. They were not busy. They walked by us many times and never even so much as acknowledged our existence. We did get a very nice table. The ambiance...is fantastic. We ordered our drinks. They were horrible. We had the same ones several other places and loved them. Then came our first appetizer. Stuffed mussels. They were luke warm and horrible. The table next to us had shared that they thought their dinner was also horrible as well as the service. We didn't finish our drinks or appetizers. We paid and left. We were so discouraged by their food and service. Absolutely do not recommend.More

I believe reservations are only made by phone or in person. We were lucky and got a table immediately. You can try going by the day before to make the reservation in person or ask the staff at the place you are staying to... More
