Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A quaint little place with food to die for. It has a good bar and serves delicious local wines. The artichoke cream bruschetta is particularly good. The guy who runs the place is a little abrupt but is very passionate about his restaurant and it...shows in the quality of the food.More

Good sized authentic Italian pastas. We had ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta served with a pistachio pesto sauce and a salmon pasta. We also had a bottle of the owner’s hand made wine, well priced and delicious. It’s only a small space with few...tables and everything is done in Italian but don’t be scared to try it, so worth the experience.More

This place is run with passion by local people with long history and authentic atmosphere. This is the best restaurant in cinque terre, the food is delicious, the host serves his self made wine which is very tasty and prices are really good for quality....We’ve been there 4 times and all dishes were outstanding 🙂More

Good food. Wonderfully located on the main alleyway. We enjoyed the pesto pasta and the prawn pasta. It was a bit too al dente, but didn't ruin the taste. Solid meal.

By far our most favorite restaurant in Cinque Terra. The spaghetti with clams and the spaghetti with pesto was unbelievable. We also had mozzarella capresi and it was outstanding. Loved the service. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic food that is reasonably priced. Great service by what is a family run restaurant. Nicely decorative with a charming Italian atmosphere

After a fairly exhausting walk from Manarola to Corniglia we were “dying” for a refill of food and drink. We found Il Pirun and it was to our satisfaction, filling our reserve of carbs and a cold beer. Quite a regular restaurant, but it suited...us perfectly.More

My wife and I have visited this great little town 8 times in the past 12 years and this restaurant is the best in the place. The food is all home made, fresh and very high quality. My wife is Italian and though not at...all pretentious IS very selective when choosing a restaurant, At home in Montreal Canada we rarely dine out and much prefer to dine at home. Therefore we spend at least 80% of our time a Il Pirun during our stay. Incidentally notice a rare previous review from a man from Exeter with a bee in his bonnet regarding the service...complete mystery to me. Always found the service wonderful and not rushed a the lady who most serves completely delightful. Some folks should perhaps take a valium.More

Really good and genuine Ligurian cuisine. Excellent fresh fish (“Pesce al forno”) and lovely gnocchi with homemade pesto genovese (“Gnocchi pesto”), accompanied by a glass of nice Italian red wine, gave us all energy needed for the walk from Corniglia to Vernazza. Truly price worthy...lunch and a real treat. We can strongly recommend this restaurant when you’re in Corniglia.More

So glad we decided to try this restaurant out. The food was incredible and the service was good. The kitchen is located at the 3rd floor but the waitress and owner scaled the stairs non stop the whole evening, making sure to serve everyone at...a very timely manner! We appreciated the smoked sword fish starter the most, it was a pleasant surprise. The chef had no problem replacing my gnocchi with some gluten free gnocchi that i brought with me. All portions were adequate to generous. Highly recommend this place, no views to offer but the food and service stands out.More

Left before our artichoke salad arrived but after our pasta had been consumed. The service was dire, the owner quaffing’Grappa’ and made no use of himself. The ruse of the ‘credit card machine was not working’ was pulled. Probably a tax dodge. Avoid.

We were recommended the restaurant next door but it was fully booked and so on a whim we tried this one. What a good call. Great ambience and terrific service. The food was excellent in particular the Bresceola of salt beef with Parma Regina and...tomatoes. And then the ravioli with spinach and ricotta in a cream cheese and pesto sauce. To top it off the baked gambini in a delicious olive sauce. The Prosecco and the white wines were a let down on an otherwise excellent meal. We spent the latter stages in conversation with the owner who is a great character and felt I had acquitted myself well enough to deserve a lovely limoncello to finish.More

I spent two days in Corniglia together with my fiancee, and both days we came to this fantastic restaurant. Don't be fooled by those few bad reviews about this place: as Italian (and food lover), I can guarantee you that you will find pasta-based dishes...(called "primi", in Italian) of the best quality, for extremely honest prices. I am just talking about pasta because we never managed to order other things, as the pasta was so good that we order at least two dishes per each every single time (you MUST try "paccheri zucchini e scampi" and "trofie al pesce spada"). In my opinion, this is one of the best places in which I have ever been concerning sea-food pasta, and I can guarantee you that in 30 years I have tried many. If you're a non-Italian tourist, you cannot leave 5 terre without having at last a meal in this restaurant. Moreover, try the white wine they produce (the bottle costs 12 euros), it's really good!More
