Osteria Ai Maestri was the Perfect spot for me to spend a lovely evening in Triest. The food is of extremely high quality, I honestly ate the best pasta of my life there. (The scampi taglionlini) The price is relatively low for the quality and...nothing is overly/uneccesarily fancy. The atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant is very cozy and feels personal. Staff is friendly, professional and attentive. Will definitely be back if I am ever in Triest again.More

My partner and I tried to go here on a Wednesday evening at 630. There were many free tables and we were told that although they were open, they were “fully booked”. When I queried this , I was told to leave. I asked if...I could make a reservation for tomorrow or another day and was told “no - we’re fully booked every day”. It appeared to me that this restaurant was both rude and hostile to non locals. Avoid.More

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had! All seafood fresh and tasty with pleasant service. Small tables, reservation needed. Generous portions, reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

We visited Osteria Ai Maestri on the day we landed in Europe. We were at the end of a very long day and most desperate for a relaxing meal. Thankfully, I had read about the restaurant and made a reservation. It was a Friday night...and without one we would have been out of luck. Ai Maestri is just off one of the main streets. They have an interesting outdoor setting which blends old world charm with some of the ruggedness of modern Trieste. The staff were all fairly colorful and made us feel very welcome. Our Italian is very limited but several of the staff speak English well. The food is very fresh and diverse. The Tuna Carpaccio is not to be missed. Our whole family fought over the last bites. The house wine is excellent. The prices all around are very reasonable. I highly recommend a visit to Osteria Ai Maestri.More

Located down a side street, at first doesn’t look good, but there was something fantastic about the atmosphere outside. The staff were so friendly and fun. The food to die for, the best fish I’ve ever tried, I had mackerel to start and sword fish...and salad for main. Huge portions and great value. It’s an Osteria so its wine or water to drink.More

Fantastic fish and seafood dishes. Very friendly service. Cosy unpretentious atmosphere- advise booking ahead as it’s tiny, especially inside which only has about 5 or 6 tables. Reasonable prices. Fresh and delicious. Only wish we had a chance to return!
