A lovely place to stop for a drink, many wines to choose from both local and not. Good prices and lovely staff! The atmosphere is also very nice with seating outside in the square, which is even nice in cold weather

We went to Gran Malabar based on a recommendation from the owner of Mastrobirraio. We drank a lot of different wines of the Friulian and Slovenian areas and enjoyed delicious, freshly sliced meats and cheeses to accompany them. It was busy and popular with what appeared to be locals for aperitivo. We were lucky to nab a seat at the... More

perfect little place to stop for a glass of vino, or two, offers a great variety of not just local wines. Also space outside al fresco, on a pedestrian corner in the centre of town.

This is a great place to stop for a glass or wine, coffee or cocktail in the afternoon but it is also to be recommended for those who are not familiar with the wines of the region. Both the Friuli and the Karst areas are well represented and the prices are reasonable.

If you like wine, you must try Gran Malabar. You can take a regional wine tour without ever leaving the place --- your capacity will be the limiting factor----- , nice any time of the day but particular in the evening before dinner. The snacks are delicious and if you are not careful they will be your dinner.

I discovered this place 15 years ago by a Spanish friend and I'm form TRIESTE!!! I went there for the friday events of wine testing. In one night I tested wine from Chile, Spanish Pesquera Millenium,..., ending with Piemonte Gaia Darmagi. Well you got it, I was just fainting by the emotions. After thar night I couldn't drink wine anywhere... More
