A very slow service. We ordered four dishes, only two arrived, so it was necessary to order once again the two forgotten ones a second time. However, it was excellent as well as the antipasti we had first. Another desagreeable surprise came with the bill:...two bottles of wine were counted instead of one, the mistake was corrected with lots of apologies. Nevertheless, we left the restaurant with mixed feelings..More

The food served in this restaurant is absolutely amazing: the quality of Parma ham is of the best and all the local specialties are prepared deliciously! Service is also great: waiter are enthusiastic about their job and communicate greatly with customers! REALLY RECOMMENDED

Open till late, good tortelli a la erbetta. The pumpkin (zucca) a touch too sweet for my taste. Torta Fritta is cooked the traditional way, in lard, and is delicious. Good atmosphere.

I have been going to Gallo D’Oro for many years and have never been disappointed. The food and service are excellent and the central location is convenient. It is also good value for money.

Having walked past Gallo D'Oro so many times on previous visits to Parma, and either seeing it BUSY BUSY or already having made plans, we have never eaten there, despite having been staying literally on the doorstep at Hotel Button. This weekend, on the last...night of our short trip we thought we should give it a try, having made no plans. It was relatively early on a Sunday, so a table was no problem and we were warmly welcomed. The host was perfectly happy to allow me to practice my Italian, without me feeling pressured to slip back into English. We had a bottle of house white wine and I started with a parmegiano mousse, while Martyn had buffalo mozzarella with parma ham. both anti pastas were incredibly generous in size. I then followed with risotto, and Martyn with gnocchi. Flavours throughout were wonderful. The whole meal was delicious, relaxed and effortless and will absolutely return. Thank you to Gallo D'Oro for giving us a prefect end to our stary in Parma.More

We enjoyed everything about Gallo D’Oro. The ambiance, service, glass enclosed (no smoking) and the fabulous food! Appetizers, first, second, desserts, wine and coffees all scrumptious 😋 Theresa welcomed us the first time and we returned again and again! Many speak English; so ordering was...easy; recommendations spot on.More

Truly awful! Waited 30 minutes for water and an hour for prosciutto (which was great, but we are in Parma and it comes pre sliced) (Wine arrived 5 minutes later) Loads of excuses about computer ordering system, except the alleged head waiter( beard and nose...pin) rapidly organized table clearance and re-seating! Very mediocre pasta arrived after nearly 2 hours; we cancelled secondi , but when “il conto” was presented it was still included I have traveled all over Italy for over 20 years, this by far is my worst experience ! I am sure you will be disappointed!More

Very good local cuisine. Been there a few times over the years and never got disappointed. The Culatello and Prosciutto are divine. Order the fried bread, you get 5 big chunks of Parmesan Reggiano with it €5.

This restaurant opens from noon and stays open till late. We went for an early dinner and sat at the covered patio. There was a piano player/singer, playing romantic songs that we enjoyed. The food was phenomenal. We had 3 pasta dishes, the ravioli with...asparagus, tortellini, and pappardelle. For the main, we had the pork cheek which was so flavorful and tender. We finished our meal with the cheese plate that accompanied with balsamic vinegar, honey and onion compose. Every cheese on the plate was delicious. We polished every morsels on our plate with a bottle of wine. The price of the meal was very reasonable. We would have to pay far more in Chicago or Miami for the quality of food. The services were friendly. We recommend this restaurant.More

The restaurant offers a great choice of traditional emilian cuisine: Torta Fritta, Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano Mousse! Everything tastes simply fantastic! Located in the very center of Parma, the restaurant will welcome you with a very cosy atmosphere and super kind staff! We strongly advice...to try also other kind of salami beside prosciutto because all of them are superb! Prices are fair and definitely worth the quality!More
