Like other reviewers, we had trouble finding a place for dinner as most were closed following New Year's Eve. Having said that, we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant given its location on a very busy walking street. The service was very efficient and friendly. The meal was delicious but be aware the portions are large. Tortelli d'erbetta were particularly... More

A very special dinner with the best risotto that we had ever tasted! Large portions, easily accommodated our gluten free requirements. Risotto Guseppe Verdi, followed by Osso Bucco and Porc braised in wine, and of course Tiramisu!

We were able to get a last minute reservation for the covered outdoor dining section for six people. This was a fun meal with boisterous waiters but they rushed our menu choices and provided more than what we actually ordered. We ended up with a lot of plates of vertical cheese tasting (even if the aged reggiano was actually very... More

For some reason it was difficult to find a place for dinner in Parma city center. It was Saturday, and most restaurants were full or pre-reserved. Hosts in Trattoria Sorelle Picchi found a table for us; just asked to wait ten minutes. Parma is famous for prosciutto and other salumi types. We ordered local meat selection as appetizer. The waiter... More

Truffles, black truffles from Parma! This place has loads of them and isn't shy to use them. None of this by the gram nonsense. We had black truffle tagliatelle and then Guinea fowl with truffles and veal. Amazing food, great service, not cheap at £125 Euros with only two glasses of wine. You can site outside but there's a massive... More

We travelled to Parma by train from Bologna and arrived around lunchtime. My wife has read a travel blog online where this restaurant was recommended. Wow, were we lucky. Firstly because of the recommendation and secondly because we got a table! For starters we shared the parma ham & parmesan boards. Beautiful. The cheeses were differently aged and the waiter... Busy restaurant inside with also a nice terrace area to watch the people walk by this pedestrian area. Good selection a la carte (no tourist menu) with lots of local specialties. You walk by kitchen as you enter and see them busily preparing dishes. They also have a counter where you can buy wine/cold cuts and take with you. Save... More

We had a plate of local culatello and then had to wait over an hour for our pasta course by which time the 2 tables next to us (locals) had had their meals and left. Three waiters serve the outdoor terrace but they don't work a section and try to attract their attention is difficult as they are not noticing... More

I have been to Sorelle probably 5 times over 7 years at the recommendation of an Italian friend and I love it. Food fresh and fantastic, service with a smile.
