Good taste. High prices. The portions are absolutely to small. Friendly service. The entrance is an experience.

Amazing dishes in a cozy place out of the daily chaotic reality. Not much choice, but that's what I like and how it has to be since everything is home made like at your own home.

Made our reservation for 2 people at the end of July (via their website) and ate there mid-October. An intimate space with 4 tables (but you all ready knew that), it was so worth the wait. We started with the fried dumplings with cold cuts,...vegetable fritters, potato dumplings with rabbit sauce, tagliatelle with cheek pork sauce, and the veal cheeks... A lot for a couple, but it's fairly priced and, well, we waited so long and had heard so much good stuff about the food! All the dishes were perfect, but... The tagliatelle was light with a hearty-yet light sauce i.e., it was perfect, while the veal cheeks melted in, uhhh, your cheeks. Would recommend over and over again.More

Believe the hype. We decided not to go to Osteria Francescana as we like a bit more intimate and informal restaurant. The reservation process was easy and had to change the date once to accomodate my Pagani tour. They were very nice and accomodating. You...walk through a deli to the very small four table restaurant. All the tables are well spread out. Our server was the owner's daughter and she was lovely and very friendly. We didn't do the tasting menus as we thought it was going to be too much food. We had the meat appetizier, eggplant, a pasta course and the pork. Everything was delicious and portions were a good size. At the end the chef came out to speak to us and then signed the menu; a very nice touch. We even were able to tour the wine cellar, a perfect ending to our wonderful meal.More

We booked our lunch 3 months in advance, and it still managed to surpass our expectations in every way. Incredibly intimate with only 4 tables, and the service was friendly and highly attentive. Do yourself a favour and try one of the tasting menus.... we...have had degustations all over the world and rate this as our finest. Can’t wait to visit Modena and come back again one day!More

There was a little mixup with my contact to the restaurant but they responded quickly with a query and all was sorted out....very professionally and helpfully. The food was absolutely delicious, the service excellent and the atmosphere perfect. This experience is directed at visitors to...Italy, there certainly was no ‘local’ there, but the Hosteria Giuisti offered beautifully cooked food in a comfortable setting. One member of our table chose dessert (and the remainder requested spoons to try it), but we were all served a small slice which was a lovely gesture. The recommended bottle of locally produced Lambrusco was very well priced and a delicious accompaniment. This has been the highlight of our Italian trip.More

Four of us had lunch here at the end of June. All of the dishes were delicious. The service was warm and attentive, including the wine suggestions. They were spot on with listening and making suggestions. Stand outs were: The chocolate pudding, the cotechino fritto,...the pasta with "pork cheek", the fiiled pasta in cream sauce, the selection of cheese, the fried dough with salumi and of course, the Lambrusco and Barbera wines that were selected. They delivered on our high expectatons!More

After seeing Modena and this restaurant on the Netflix show Master of None we had always wanted to visited Hosteria Giusti. We managed to secure a reservation booking a couple of months in advance of our trip. Thankfully the restaurant is as idyllic and perfect...as pictured. Upon arrival we confirmed our reservation in the delicatessen and were taken through a narrow corridor past the kitchen to one of the four tables located in the dining room. We opted four the two different tasting menus. One of four dishes for 50 Euro and one of 6 for 80 Euro and a reasonably priced bottle of local wine. Each dish was delicious and had been wonderfully crafted by the excellent chefs. The veal cheek, pork noodle, vegatable soup fritter and suckling pig were particular highlights. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch and a must if visiting Modena.More

It was no easy task making a reservation here but definitely worth the wait. You do feel special from the moment you wak through a tiny door from the shop into the restaurant. The service was great, attentive and helpful but not overwhelming. The tasting...menus are probably a smart choice to go and they will substitute a dish if you really fancy another one. The suckling pig and their gnocco fritto are pretty unforgettable.More

Hi - yes they did email back - I think they're closed Sundays and Mondays so don't worry if you don't hear until Tuesday. Worth persevering!

Their website indicates that they are only open for lunch. In the evenings, it says that you can only reserve the whole space for 16-24 people to eat. There is no information on how to make reservations, but there is a phone... More
