Very familiar environment in a local restaurant right in front of Modena’s famous mercato Albinelli. The food is typical Romagna cuisine with the Gnocchi, the cold meats and the parmigiano. Very good graminia al ragu

A must go if you are in Modena. Affordable and top quality products plus it’s an experience as this kind of places are the soul of Emilia. Land of slow food and fast cars. Da non perdere se si passa per Modena. Ottimo cibo tradizionale...Emiliano e prezzi da osteria. Servizio come una volta. 5 stelle meritate.More

This restaurant was well-known to the locals. It is hidden in a residential building on the second floor. There was a huge line-up, and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. If you are willing to wait, make sure you find the host...and put your name on the list and prepare to wait in a drab hallway until your name is called. The restaurant has outdated decor and has long, communal tables. It was so loud, you could hardly have a conversation with your partner. The service was horrible. It was chaotic and confusing, and we didn’t get a bread basket with our meal even though that was the standard. Admittedly, the food was fantastic, so we totally understand why it is such a popular local spot, but in our opinion, the terrible service and chaotic environment really detracted from the overall dining experience. If you do go, we recommend the pumpkin ravioli in sage brown butter and the meat lasagna which were both flavourful, delicious, and prepared well, but it was the worst service we ever experienced in Italy.More

Very good Osteria in central Modena. Efficient service, excellent food and very well priced. Definitely worth a visit.

Recommended by my guide book.Easy to miss, as it is a first floor room, up a nondescript staircase. Rammed at 1pm, full of locals, got last 2 seats. Verbal food and drink menu! Well cooked local dishes, and a jolly atmosphere.

We had a lovely, warming lunch here during the work day, the staff were very nice and very efficient. My lasagne was lovely.

The art historian with whom we were travelling had asked colleagues for their recommendation for lunch when in Modena. There were few tourists there at lunch, which should have told us that the local people knew it and appreciated the food. Unfortunately for us, they...had no printed menus and the waitress rattled off the dishes of the day quickly. I not only had to order for myself, but also help my husband choose what he wanted. So once I heard something that I knew my husband would eat, that's what I requested for him, and then I needed to try to remember what I might have for my meal. Our waitress was not happy about repeating. I tried to get some salad or vegetables as a first course. My husband's tortelloni had very little butter and sage sauce to speak of and he couldn't continue eating them as dry as they were. The secondi were less than satisfactory and then, when I pulled out my credit card to pay, I learned that we had to pay in cash. Just not a good day for us. We left without trying to figure out what the desserts were.More

Lots of others must know about it too as it was full my 12:15 - we went at 12:04!! A friend recommended this place and boy was he on target. The tortellini in broth was great – so good. My wife had the homemade pasta...with a simple ragu that really works. Pasta cooked perfectly. For the second course we had roasted pork in balsamic vinegar sauce. How they blended this sauce without being too tart or too sweet is a mystery. I could not get enough of this sauce. Service was friendly with no written menu but, waitress could say the menu in Italian and English and answered every question we had. The bill for 2 courses each and a liter of wine – 36 euros.More

Absolutely loved this place. Would have missed it if I hadn't seen it on TripAdvisor before. Situated on the first floor. No menus. But we went for lasagne, two types of tortellini, & the beef carpacio. Utterly beautiful food in a lovely setting. My wife...& 2 year old daughter also enjoyed the lunch. Waitress spoke enough English to avoid any misunderstandings. Recommend.More

My friends from Modena brought me there and I really enjoyed it. It is a traditional trattoria with cosy atmosphere and tasty local food. Exactly what you would eat at your granny’s. There’s no menu, they tell you the options at the table. Service is...very fast. They don’t take reservations and the place fills up very quickly, so go early if you want to get a table!More
