The meat tortellini and tagliatelle in ragu were both pretty good. This was one of the few restaurants we found to be open on Sunday afternoon. It is a good place but the restaurant right next door we found to be a little better.

We had lunch here because of Katie Parla’s recommendation, and she has always been right in my opinion. It is impossible to veer off of Modenese Classics here, and everything was super straight forward, no frills, and extremely good. The sevice was prompt and attentive,

One of the best meals we had on our trip and we had some amount of meals over the 4 days !!!!! A real family feeling as soon as you walk in upstairs / the restaurant was full of locals (always a good sign) and...a buzzing atmosphere / silence only eating !! A warm and friendly greeting / excellent suggestions on what to eat and we were not disappointed - the meal from start to finish was EXCELLENT. Well done and thank you. Looking forward to our return visit already.More

Had a great dinner here with my family. One of the waiters spoke excellent English. We had 3 courses each and wine and it was very reasonably priced. Love that family members of the original owner still work here, making the pasta as you enter...the restaurant.More

We first ate here two years ago and it seems it has gone downhill since then. The tortellini in Parmesan cream was dry, unlike other places we have eaten it but it was on the soupy side. The veal in a balsamic sauce appeared to...have been cold cuts. I won’t be going back.More

Ristorante de Enzo offers both delicious food and attentive service. We visited on our last night in Modena and we had an incredible time. We had made a booking via e mail. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly; our dinner lasted over four hours and...we felt in no way rushed. Our server was very knowledgeable and ensured that we understood the best ways to enjoy each dish that we ordered. We started with a bottle of Lambrusco and the gnoccho fritto with pâté. To follow we had the tortellini in brodo and the pappardelle with hare sauce. Both were scrumptious. We had tried tortellini in brodo at another place and it was not our favorite. However, this version with their house made tortellini was absolutely wonderful and the table side grated nutmeg was a lovely touch. For our second bottle of wine, our waiter recommended that we try another version of Lambrusco. This one being from the south and the grapes being grown in wetter climates therefore, the wine was much darker in color than our first. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine and the offer to try something different. For the main we had the scallopini with balsamic and roasted potatoes. To finish we were given complimentary espresso and limoncello. Overall, our experience was perfect. The service was impeccable and the food was authentic and flavorful. I highly recommend trying to get a table at this place. Ristorante de Enzo was truly a highlight of our time in Modena.More

I had what may have been my best meal ever in Italy, and I've traveled North and South & Sicily. It was so good that on my next trip, while staying in Mantova about 90 minutes away by train, I'll be going back to Modena...specifically to go to this restaurant. It was great seeing the family making the pasta. Everything was very well presented and tasted very good. I ordered a pasta with rabbit in the sauce. The waiter asked if I knew what I was ordering, and I told him I did. Many people don't like rabbit meat in their sauce. I happen to love it. The wine was great. The wonderful Modena vinegar was to die for: thick like chocolate sauce. I can't wait to go back!More

We were hoping for a typical Modenese meal on our day trip. That's exactly what we got!! The kitchen was super cool, with 3 generations of Modena folding away in the pasta corner. We had a memorable photo with the family of chefs at the...end of our meal, very special in deed. Enjoy!!More

I love the food and the service - do yourself a favour and try their gnocco fritto with some mortadella and Lambrusco!

We visited Da Enzo on a recommendation and it lived up to the review. The decor is simple and it’s not at all fancy. It is very clearly a family restaurant which is exactly what we were looking for. It opened at 7:30pm and started...filling up pretty much straight away. We started with Parma Ham and gnocco. Gnocco is warm fried pastry sort of squares which were amazing and went perfectly with the ham/prosciutto. We then had tortellini brodo which is a regional specialty and was delicious. For main we shared a plate of 3 pastas to try more options and the homemade pasta and sauces were spot on. We finished with Inglese zuppa (English soup) which is not a soup but a layered sponge dessert because we googled local dishes. This was too alcoholic tasting for my liking. Overall a great meal would definitely recommend.More
