From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like something special. But dont let the first impression delude you. The restaurant is a little gem. The owner familiy really loves food, and that shows in everything they do. They go with the slow food philosophy: Everything is home-made, local, seasonal and of the best quality available. Even for vegetarians there is... More

Each course was outstanding. Friendly staff, and attentive host. No complaints at all. A must visit whilst in Bologna, remember to book in advance. Closed Monday and Tuesdays. Best pasta I have ever eaten. Just do it!

The food, service, kindness and location are of the highest quality, 100% top. The prices are in my opinion on the high side, unfortunately, otherwise I would go back more often. Recommended if you are in town for a short period and cannot move to the countryside.

Without Reservation you will have little chance to get a table. If you succeed you will enjoy exzellent traditional food and wine presented and prepared by very friendly staff. We selected dishes from the menu and the daily offer. Both were Great. Highlight was zuppa inglese as dolce.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor that was confirmed by our Bologna tour guide and ended our day there on a day trip. It is outside the main historical area town but next to the train station. We were greeted by the owner and although it is more of a locals spot he spoke enough English to make us fully... More

I was staying in Bologna for one night on business and on perusing TA I noticed that this restaurant was pretty close to my hotel (the AC Hotel Bologna), the reviews seemed pretty good so a booked a table over the telephone (around 30 minutes before they opened). They were at pains to emphasise that the only option was for... More

I qualify the statement simply because there are a couple of other extraordinary restaurants that I know and love, and would not want to make a definitive statement like “The Best” without causing opprobrium. Among them are Pheasants Tears in Sighnaghi, Georgia, and The Creel in St. Margret’s Hope, Orkney (now sadly closed) and the Roca Sao Joao dos Angolares... More

After reading the reviews we booked the restaurant during a weekend away with friends. We were not disappointed! Flavio was the perfect host explaining the menu in full to us over a lovely glass of wine. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening tasting local dishes made with local ingredients in very comfortable surroundings We would thoroughly recommend this for a... More

Traditional Italian dishes with excellent service and a great price tag. Would highly recommend! The organic wine is nice too.
