Visited this restaurant three times during our stay as the food was good and the atmosphere lively. Favourite dish was the roast pork and baked potatoes

This restaurant was literally around the corner from our hotel (Grand Hotel Majestic) and having arrived in Bologana a few hours earlier we thought this would be a good place to try. We had a salad to star which could have done with some love - it was basically some lettuce, half a tomato and some grated carrot. We then... More

Good food, served in a vaulted restaurant setting. Don't be put off by the clutter decorating the restaurant nor the menus which are in need of an upgrade. The food is good and our waiter was pleasant and knowledgable.

We had been Cattedrale di San Pietro on Via Dell'Indipendenza and walked down Via Manzoni towards another church which it turned out had just closed for the noon hour. We continued down Via Manzoni and realized that this establishment was one that we had eaten it on past visits to Bologna. Since it was the lunch hour we peaked in... More

The pasta was very good. The salad and desert somewhat disappointing, as well as the service (staff doesn't speak English).

We booked for a group, once arrived our is table wasn't ready and we had to wait in the middle of other tables, not convenient for us nor for the other customers. The menu is really short, just a few dishes each course, we prevented that there were vegetarians but the owner seemed to have forgotten it; in any case... More

The place itself is in a historic building, but inside it is looking a bit tired. The emphasis is obviously on the pasta, and the dish I had, tortellini cooked in broth and then tossed in butter was good, but as Bologna is full of wonderful places where you can eat pasta, it wasn't as good as other places. The... More

Average in Bologna would be superb in another part of the world, but here, where astonishing restaurants are everywhere, the Buca Manzoni was but average. The food was fine - the Gramigna con Salsiccia well prepared and tasty, and the side order of spinach was plentiful and cooked well. It was all good, but nothing jumped off the plate. Perhaps... It is not Italian food i usually enjoy. It was too cheesy and the taste was flat. Went to the place hungry and came out hungry and unsatified with an overpriced bill....perhaps a McDonald burger will help me change the taste without burning a hole in my pocket.

Local renovated and traditional place in the pedestrian area of Via Manzoni, alongside the city's major museums: the Medieval Museum, Palazzo Fava, Oratory of St. Columban. The restaurant has 95 seats divided into a large room, an area closer to the part devoted to an inn and a private dining rooms where you can book for parties or business lunches which has a capacity of about 30 people. The cuisine is typical Bolognese prepared with fresh local products and accompanied by wines from the hills of Bologna and local birer. At lunch the restaurant is also ready for a quick lunch and economic. And possible to connect wifi and docking stations for laptops and mobile phones. Disabled access and bathroom with toilet for children. Access granted to animals prior communication with the manager. We are closed in Tuesday.
