I have been in this cafe' whenever I have been in Bologna. It is a grand cafe' that kept its charme, despite the last restoration works removed that touch of authentic cafe': it was founded in 1930 by Enrico Zanarini. Always crowded and full of life in all times of the year. The pastry shop has a broad choice of... More

This used to be the most exclusive cafe in Bologna. Everything is nice but nothing special. Coffee was ok. Reasonably priced, but I wanted to feel gentile.

It was end September and it was still and pleasant to sit outside. I had a big ice cream and a small espresso

Perfect for people watching, buying chocolate shoes and bags as gifts and resting from seeing all the local attractions. Terrific location and great martinis.

If you visit bologna you should have an Italian coffee there. It is a good place for short break to have coffee and desert. I highly recommend

Both adults and children agreed; one of the best gelato we have had so far. We all chose different flavours and each was delicious. 5 Euro per generous serving, we had them in cones. A great spot to people watch as you relax and indulge.

We walked past Cafe Zanarini in the day - it is on a nice square and is very attractive, with tables laid out and lots of people, so we decided to go back for an aperitivo that evening. By then it was dark, and there were no lights - maybe the waiters couldn't see us and that's why it took... More

Just stopped off for two ice creams. Lovely setting in the piazza. Efficient service. Gorgeous ice cream. Three scoops for 5 euros and watch the world go by.

Spent three wonderful days in Bologna and on the last night decided to try the Italian staple, aperitivo. For those like me who weren't in the know, aperitivo is a popular happy hour special that lasts all night. Order a drink and you have access to a buffet of local specialties like salads, pizza etc. It's amazing! On the advice... More

Situated fairly central this cafe overlooks a large piazza which is not as scenic or botanically festooned as other piazza in Bologna. This is certainly a popular stopping off place to be seen, to meet, greet and eat whether it is for breakfast, mid morning, lunch, afternoon or dinner. The cafe Pasticceria Zanarini is located in the Archiginnasio building, magnificent... More
