We were recommended and left not disappointed. The tortellini was fresh and perfectly cooked - lamb flavoursome and tender.. oh and the wine !!! Loved the Ombrosso 2009. Elena and Dominico who served us were both fabulous and clearly loved the food with their excellent recommendations and attention to detail- bravo We would highly recommend !

Excellent trattoria located very downtown in Via Clavature which is directly leading to Piazza Maggiore. Prices are a bit more expensive than trattorias further from city center, but food was really worth it. Atmosphere is really simple and catering very nice. As it's very central, only a few locals eat there, most of them were tourists. Take the San Giovese... More

A well run, very busy, yet friendly place. I find that when I spend more time thinking about the food than enjoying my surroundings that says it all about the cuisine. When the food is so good and I start to think how it could be just a bit better and I can not really fault it - then it... More

We decided to visit tis restaurant as it had been described in the guide book as an institution in Bologna. We booked and we were pleased that we had as people were being turned away all the time we were there. The waiter spoke pretty good English and was helpful in describing dishes on the menu. A little more expensive... More

We came here recently with friends who live in Bologna and experienced true Bolognese cuisine. They have it all — cotoletta bolognese, the ragu, the bollito, the tortellini in brodo. The spuma di mortadella was a fun treat. Save room for dessert. We enjoyed the panna cotta especially. Nice wine list and we loved the amarone.

Lunch and dinner both thoroughly enjoyed ,great atmosphere busy , friendly but casual. Emphasis on the flavours and authenticity, mind you it must be as mostly locals.Enjoyed the mixed cold meats and tagliatelle blognese and semi Fredo for lunch then went back 2 nights later for onion soup and sirloin with a side of friggione ,cooked to perfection tender and the... Down an alley, this restaurant was popular, people were turned away if no reservation .Food was excellent and not as hurried as other meals we had. Local pasta was lovely and service with a smile - I would recomend

After hearing this restaurant mentioned many times on numerous websites I was excited to get a reservation and give it a try. I have to preface by saying I don't eat meat so my choices were limited. I had a simple house salad and a pasta dish. Both were fair but not exciting. My friends had tagliatelle with ragu, a... More

got to this place on a February Saturday evening. Fortunately we had secured a reservation by email beforehand, otherwise, as we noticed, just popping in and getting a free table would have been an impossible mission. Food was tremendous, Bologna cooking at its very best. Full of local people - this is always a good sign. The only downside: when... More
