Just 10 minutes outside of the city center of Bologna, you'll find this osteria tradizionale. The service was excellent as our waitress was more than happy to explain all the details, make great suggestions and describe so expressively the history of the restaurant. The food was very tastefool, felt home cooked. I definitely recommend this!!

Recommend the Tortelloni in brodo but the short menu has so many tasty dishes. Beef carpaccio was delightful There is a eating area outside the main room which has been enclosed with greenery, smoking is allowed there, but is not too intrusive. Suggest a reservation for busier times

If you want to have the real experience of an Italian trattoria this is the place. A little bit away from the centre, 10 Euros by taxi, but we will certainly do it again. Definitely no tourists in site, great food with a smile, good wine selection reasonable prices. The best “tortellini al brodo” I’ve ever had.

I will talk about this Trattoria every day until the day I die. Wonderful food, I can never have just one plate - we usually have 3 Pasta dishes every time we arrive. And it is perfectly placed at the base of the walk to San Luca. I cannot begin to describe how perfect the food is here.

We got here just as it opened for lunch after a climb up to San Luca. We weren't sure if we had the right place because it was empty but within 10 minutes you couldn't move for locals. Excellent pasta, meatballs and sucking pig. Cool and friendly just what we needed

Stop in for lunch on our way to Firenze. We started with a decent house vino rosso, the ragu was delicious and for dessert we had fresh peaches in lemon juice. I finished my meal with Limoncello and later I realized I should have had ordered meloncello instead.

This has been recommended by gourmet magazines and it thoroughly deserves to be. Superb local dishes such as gramigna con salsiccia (local strands pasta with sausage), and tagliatelle ragu are made with home made pasta. The coniglia farcite was wonderful and the semifreddo to die for. Highly recommended.

We went to Meloncello for our last night in Bologna. The interior is appealing, and the service was fine. I had stuffed zucchini, and another member of our group had veal stew. They were identical dishes (peas and potatoes in sauce), with zucchini in one and veal in the other. Another member of our group had the suckling pig, and... More

The first time I've been to Meloncello was fantastic, becoming an immediate favorite. Being a bit far from the center and a mid-range restaurant (€30-40) is what prevents me from eating there on a regular basis. The "primi" (pasta) dishes are definitely the stronger part, but the "secondi" (meat) dishes hold up well. The place itself is warm & pleasant with... More

Dined here after walking to and from the basilica. Hoping for a good hearty Italian meal. Payed €12 for a cereal sized portion of veal stew. Granted tasted wonderful however had hardly any veal and consisted mostly of potatoes and peas. My boyfriend had the tortellini and was sorely disappointed after receiving ONE piece of tortellini with again more potatoes... More
