Recommended by a friend I really loved it. The Nutella Calzone was delicious. In addition I had the Zuchinni blossom Pizza. SO SO Good! The bruchetta was delicious - honey and soft cheese. I am going to try to recreate at home. Loved it.

We brought our toddler to Rome for a day, walked around the usual locations and wanted to get away from all the crowds and eat some tasty Italian pizza. Dar Poeta delivered. We sat outside in the shade on a warm spring day with our toddler in her stroller. Had the signature pizza and a more spicy red variant, both... More

The Pizza is to die for! Perfectly baked, crispy, light, with aroma and flavour typical of the region.Great variety and extremely accessible and reasonable prices. This is a well-known and popular place among tourist and locals. Be ready to wait for a table at least 30 minutes...but don't worry: the waiting is worth it! You will have one of the... More

Dar Poeta is one of those 'in the know' places of Rome. It's in a back alley in the trendy Trestevare neighbourhood, and you arrive to crowds of people waiting outside, and there's always a wait. But the truth is that the service is quick, the pizzas are great and so the tables turn pretty quickly and the pizza is... More

I have enjoyed great pizzas from Chicago and New York and this pizza is no less satisfying. But what makes this wonderful restaurant a true gem is that it is always (relatively) crowded (with surprisingly short wait times !) and the seating, while comfortable, is humorously nightmarish. Almost no matter where your table is located, approaching guests must utilize almost... More

We came here after being let down at Ombre Rosse trying and failing to get seated for an hour. We came to Dar Poeta as we are staying across the street from the restaurant and it was getting late/knew they offered takeaway. It was busy when we arrived but after we'd ordered it was only around 10-15 mins wait for... More

Lots of choices of excellent pizzas with thin crust and different toppings. Lines start early so arrive early if possible. Recommend the superbufala!

Dar Poeta was written up in our guidebook as excellent and authentic pizza. The pizza was tasty (although a bit too much crust for me), and the tables were too squashed together which meant it took ten minutes for us to be able to order drinks. For a pizza plus large bottle of beer we spent around €13.50 per person.... More

Family of four had pizzas for lunch. The best in our life so far. No words can explain. You must try. Nice girls serving the tables. Price quality nowhere to be matched. Any time I am in Rome I ll be coming back

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
