Went here on a food tour & the pizza was great. Loved the toppings, lived up to its reputation and especially loved the suppli. Come earlier/later to avoid the lines.
Glad we came here, not just to tick off a bucket list but also to come and see if it was worth the hype. The key thing here is the clever use of the fresh produce and marrying that with that crispy base - I...think that’s what makes their food special. Loved it.More
Waited over 1.5 hours on line for pizza at around 2pm only to be told you needed to get a ticket for to order (luckily, we were warned ahead of time). Great pizza dough, but not all the slices were equally tasty. It was also...a bummer that by the time we got to the front, the selection was limited. However, we picked up three different slices with the mushroom being the favorite. We also ordered some of the arancini. As for the slices, they heated the pizza and drizzled fresh EVOO - overall, a pleasant experience but not something I would say was not worth the wait.More
Amazing pizza (one of the best in the world) really cool set up of a shop, really friendly staff great variety of arancini and had a surprise when We were sat eating when i looked up and Gabriel Bonci was asking if we were enjoying...the food.More
The place is a staple in Rome for Roman-style pizza. For context, Roman-style pizza is a different type of pizza than the usual circle-shaped one most are used to recognising: it tends to be flatter, rectangle-shaped and comes with different toppings (sometimes even “non-conventional” ones...such as mayonnaise, meat, and others. Also for context, Bonci was supposedly the one who invented “fritti” I.e. fried bites of rice/pasta. The place lived up to its reputation. We had to wait forty-ish minutes, but the various types of pizza and fritti we tried were definitely worth the wait. Vegan-friendly toppings as well as carbonara fritti, paired with pizzas with various types of Roman products - one definitely has many alternatives to choose from. The dough is crunchy but soft, tasty as well. Ironically, fritti were a bit under our expectations - they were served cold and hence were a bit dry. In terms of price, you get the classic reputation markup - resulting in products being a bit overpriced for their quality (€5 for a pizza slice). Being served is not easy either, with the long-ish wait - on top of that, they even got our order wrong and forgot three fritti. We asked for them regardless, but it assuredly wasn’t pleasant. 4 stars in total, could’ve been much better although overall and a must-try.More
The worst pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life! We waited 40minutes to be served. They are doing pizza with mayonnaise? Can you imagine this? Mayonnaise pizza in Italia. It was so Bad that even a frozen pizza from the supermarket is much better...then. Save your time and money and run from this.More
We have tried 4 types of pizza- non of them were really warm, and some carbonara supply- too greasy. It was also bit overpriced. To compare we went to Bonci Bakery, they had just 4 types of pizza but it was muuuuuch better. Generally worth...to try but don’t expect too much.More
Wonderful masterfully tasty and not to be missed pizza . The owner is featured on Netflix and has 3 locations in the US. Chicago and New Orleans. By far the crust is out of this world, who knew egg on pizza would be deliciously fantastic....Can wait to come back next time we are in Rome!More
I went here years before they became popular based on the Netflix series. You don’t go here because you’re going to get wonderful customer service or a white linen tablecloth. You don’t go here because you saw somebody famous on the Netflix show. You don’t...go here so you can post on your Instagram post. Go here for the pizza! What they do with the bread and the crust and the toppings on this pizza is simply next level. By no means is it cheap but I don’t know how somebody could call it overpriced. Go with enough friends that you can try several different pizzas and you will never be disappointed. There is a reason this was popular and amazing long before it showed up on an American TV show. Bonci is simply the best at what he does and always has been!More
if you don't speak Italian, they might treat you rude. I ordered a slice of pizza and paid for it, meanwhile their orders got mixed up and consequently got a cold slice, cut out quickly without heating. Im disappointed.
Had seen it covered by Anthony Bourdain and had read some of the reviews here before (both good and bad). Frankly can't believe some of the bad reviews in terms of quality. The wait I can believe. But they do have a ticketing system so...you just wait for your number. There's no seating, but there's some counter space outside. The sidewalk is quite wide here and its a quiet street. Oddly enough I didn't seek the place out but came upon it by chance as I was looking for a Panificio (bakery in Italian) and the one closest my hotel had closed. The wait on an October Saturday at 2pm was about 20 minutes, I think more so because there was a large group in front of us that must of ordered everything on the menu. And it looked GOOD! In the end we wanted the traditional roman white pizza (with potatoes) but they were still baking the next batch that we went with the typical with pomodoro. It was very tasty. Crunchy yet soft crust and sweet, tangy pomodoro. Was it the best. Not sure because we had some very good elsewhere but it was definitely very good. I think they do get very creative with their toppings.More
Very surprised the were several addresses to by Bonci products. Fair line to enter. Kind and fast service. Delicious bread, pizza and pies. Du
Great pizza. Queue for 20 minutes, but it was worth it. Unreal combinations and excellent dough. The service was pleasant and professional. Price is ok, depends on the size of the piece
My girlfriend forced me to try this out after the Netflix hype. I'm Italian. I'm disappointed. The pizza is slightly above average, good crust, good ingredients, some horrifying combinations but i guess that's the marketing. However, it's definitely not worth the two hour wait, the...disorganized ordering of pizzas, the overly priced and overly heavy arancini with Carbonara. I'd eat It again only after max 20min wait and, tbh, I'd get just the Margherita. The others are more focaccias.More
