Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Giacomelli has been a favourite local restaurant of ours for years. Always dependable for excellent food including pizzas and traditional family cooking. Frequented by locals for lunch and dinner. Reasonable prices and friendly attentive service. Make sure you call to reserve for larger groups and...on weekends.More

Amazing place. Slightly away from tourists’ track but absolutely worth visiting. Dishes are simple yet delicious and mozzarella served as waiting dish is the best I ever had

Very authentic place, but the pizza (that comes in three different sizes, choose how hungry you are: small (=piccolo) really is small!) was too crunchy for us, it had no soft dough whatsoever, and no basil leaves. We got there the minute they opened and...were the first ones, but the restaurant fills quickly and about an hour after they opened it was full.More

Be prepared to wait a while for a table, very busy. Reminded me of Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn. Pizza was amazing, base super light and crispy. Husband had a bottle of Nero d’Avola that he is still raving about ; only €15.

Stop searching. Giacomelli is the very best. It's way out of the way, so take a taxi, 15 minutes or so from the Termini. The neighborhood is a little like NYC's upper east side, but there's not a whiff of pretension or any kind of...self-consciousness about this pizzeria. The crust is the lightest you'll find. And there, in the middle of the restaurant, is a giant pizza oven, a veritable furnace. The place fills up, so make a reservation. There's an English menu, and the wait staff ought to be help you. Our waiter, Stephano, a very classy guy, couldn't have been nicer. No frills. But truly memorable pizza with your newfound fellow Romans.More

I ate there a couple of times here at Giacomelli. I took some friends from the US and they were all so happy! Delicious pasta and pizza. We also enjoyed bruschette and fried zucchini flowers. Highly recommended

We had a quick dinner at Giocomelli’s at the recommendation of our VRBO host. We were not disappointed. Calzone and pasta was delicious. Service was good, including providing an English menu for us. Highly recommend for a laid-back family type mea.

We‘ve been twice at pizzeria Giacomelli. The place was told us by our host Riccardo from La Locanda ai Musei. It is not far away from our place and also not far away from Vaticano but far enough to not to be a classic touristic...trap. The food is excellent and prices are absolutely OK. Try the pizza and also the great tiramisu. Service is perfect and very polite. Be there in time because the place is always full or better make a reservation in advance. Try also the very good vino rosso dela Casa and the Grappa. I would always come back for one of the greatest pizza I ever had. Grazie milleMore

We found this place by luck, what a great “no fuss” relaxed place, a great local community restaurant mixed with visitors too from the nearby rugby stadium, seems like years of history behind it, for us it was great food to share on a table...of 8, they gave us a combo of fried cheese, veg, fish, pizza, great wine, the Roma meal you would wish for....More
