Nothing says more about a restaurant than it being full of locals. And Ristorante dal Toscano was that. It's famous for its steak. My wife had the beef fillet. Perfect. I had the beef sirloin. Latter was a fattier cut. Both were cooked on the rare side of medium rare. Delicious. That plus a salad, beans, bread and half litre... More

We had visited this restaurant and it was a treat. Totally packed with local people for dinner. Making a reservation is a need. Staff was too busy at a certain moment and lost track. Food excellent. Great steaks, well cooked, pastas great. Not cheap.

Great location close to the Vatican, classy-looking establishment: there must be a catch, right? To our surprise, wrong! The service was friendly, he food delicious and the price very reasonable (c.€70 for a 3 course meal for 2 plus lots of wine!). Really surprised and delighted to have stumbled upon this little gem.

We had visited this restaurant about 2 years ago and unfortunately this got worse. Making a reservation is a need, because it was literally full house. Staff remained the same, making the same mistakes like 2 years ago (spilling the wine and water, bringing a wrong wine, surprisingly a more expensive one...) I can't say, that the food was bad,... I booked a table for my sons birthday based on some of the reviews on Tripadvisor. Despite booking two weeks in advance there was still a faff when we arrived, I'm sure if I had not stood my ground we would have been placed in a back room with a load of screaming children or refused a table altogether. Anyway... More

We've been back to this restaurant every time we visit Rome situated near the Vatican a touristy area however, it is heavily patronised by locals. It serves traditional Italian food, the service is ok the food is consistently good. We've found this to be an excellent lunch restaurant their pasta is very good their portions are a bit too generous... More

The first thing you see entering the restaurant are their beautiful steaks in side a cabinet of glass. I had the bistecca fiorentina which was arguably the best steak Ive ever had. Perfectly grilled to a medium-rare. The pasta was good, as well as the desert. You should reserve a table, or at least show up early if you want... More

Despite the location near the Vatican city, this restaurant is filled with locals. The food is great and the people watching is also fun! The staff is very responsive.

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
