We were walking in Testaccio not knowing where to eat and we stumbled on this place. I really wanted to eat "cacio e pepe" and it was not on the menu. I asked the nice elderly "waiter" why they did not have it on the...More

Stumbled onto this place when looking for somewhere to eat in Testaccio and we were already ravenous! So we began with the antipasto buffet and what a selection. I then ordered the roast lamb and potatoes... when it arrived both my husband and toddler started...More

Helpful and cheerful Italian men, serving classic Italian dishes. We had the vegetable soup, buccatini arrabiata and romana chicken. Amazing!

We went for a dinner in Da Bucatino twice during our trip, and it was clearly the best restaurant we tried. We asked Gabriel to choose a three course menu for us, and it could not have been any better! Five star food, five star...More

One has to get out of the center or Rome to experience a quintessential Roman restaurant experience. And the best place to do that is the easily accessible Testaccio neighbourhood which is often referred to as the stomach of Rome. It is a working class...More

Recommended by our hotel receptionist, the atmosphere is brilliant. Populated by a mix of locals and some tourists, the food was the best that we ate in Italy. Nothing fancy, just great Italian cooking and reasonably priced.

We sat outside shortly after it opened as we had the baby. Staff were very friendly, I had pasta and the wife had the rabbit, both were very good. Only downside wine was a bit warm, would recommend.

We enjoyed eating here on our last night in Rome. Good food and service. Pasta with artichokes and bacon was delicious. Reasonably priced.

Visited here whilst in Rome. It was the best pasta I have ever eaten. You are given a large bib on arrival to avoid messing your clothes with the delicious sauce.

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio,
an ancient Roman port and former working class
neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost
every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche
(nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants
give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the
daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club
hit, the area is full of locally owned small
