We had lunch here and were overall pleased. First, the service was overall very good. We had just arrived in Rome that morning and clearly I wasn't thinking well as I forgot our CDC cards and that I had booked us inside. The hostess was...very helpful and rebooked us 30 minutes later for outside. Given how busy this place is that was a very pleasant surprise. The service started really good, but then we seemed to get forgotten. We've experienced worst and if we weren't exhausted and hot, probably wouldn't have minded as much. We had a mix of salumi and prosciutto, which were amazing! Also enjoyed the burrata with sun dried tomatoes. We split a carbonara and I had really high expectations. It was very good, but definitely not the best I've had. I'd give it another try as it could have just been an off day.More

To start with, the man in the front desk should get an immediate retirement. He is extra rude and impolite. We booked for Salumeria and instead, we got a table in Roscioli cafe. Anyway, the service is rather terrible for such an expensive resto. I...mean the guys could be of none help, they didn’t even know the menu. Food was average but far from fine dining. Also, some main dishes should be just starters. Rome is fantastic with great places to eat well. Please avoid this place. Your pocket will thank you later on.More

Was an ok restaurant - more of a deli, the door staff were very rude, however the food is good but drastically overpriced for what it is.

A place with high prices, low italian feeling and mediocre service. If you want traditional italian cooking and cosy atmosphere - go elsewhere.

Great moment, great food, Products are tasty, cooking is simple and good. Definitely a place to go just regreting the wine choice… huge wine selection but the waiter wasn’t really able to help me choosing, was it the english speaking or the knowledge …?

Our ecxpectations were high and the food did meet the expectations but three elements were quite frustrating and made it a mediocre experience. 1. The very long and extensive menu could only be seen on a mobile phone and it took a very long time...where the four of us were looking at our phones and not enjoying the good company. 2. They were busy and we received our first meal after 65 minutes….or they just squeezed in too many people (next point) 3. It was very cramped and we could not really move the chairs without bothering the table next to ours. They need to step up to keep the good reputation!More

Don't think of coming here without a reservation. You'll wait & maybe not get in. Popular with Roman locals & there is a good reason for it. It specializes in meat dishes but also has some fish selections. The burrata with local tomatoes is some...of the best we've ever had. The mortadella appetizer was outstanding also.More

Roscioli is a no miss kind of place when in Rome. This traditional salumeria serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with excellent Roman dishes, but also other great Italian choices. The aperitivos are in my view the best choices. If you order a selection of cold...cuts , with the bread and a burrata with semi sechi tomatoes , it will be hard to eat your pasta after that. The portions are generous and everything is just delicious. Booking in advance is a must.More

We booked ahead and specifically asked for the dining area in the back. When we arrived, we were told that we were allocated to the outdoors. This wasn’t what we wanted (in part due to smoking and in part due to the total loss of...ambiance). Luckily we asked again and were finally shown inside. If you are a wine drinker, the place is a dream. We aren’t really so we stuck to wine by the glass. As we were in Lazio, we went with a local white and were very happy. Our server was great - friendly but unobtrusive. We started with mortadella, caponata, and fried anchovy dishes (all to share). The anchovies were amazing. Ah, the bread basket too - a favorite during this trip to Rome. My husband had the carbonara and I took the butter and anchovy pasta. Both were delicious and the servings were generous. We didn’t have space for dessert, but as some others have noted, they bring cookies and chocolate sauce, which were delicious accompaniment to our espresso. The total was okay for a place like this but of course much higher than what you would pay in a regular, non-touristy place. The only issue is that I found 3 hairs (not mine) in my pasta leftovers which I took to go. So someone in the kitchen must not have worn a hair net? I don’t know. Apart from that, a good experience and certainly recommendable when in Rome.More

I prezzi sono medi ma dipende da ciò che mangi e bevi. Puoi pagare poco o tanto, dipende anche dal vino che bevi. Se bevi una bottiglia di Brunello o un calice alla mescita. Va bene per tutte le tasche

Also does anyone know where the next best place to sit is if you can’t get up stairs further back the restaurant?
