Returned to the scene of the crime...second visit to Gatta Mangiona double pleasure. The pizza was so good I didn't manage to take a picture the whole one only the last slice. The bruschetta was also very good one. You should notice the black board for the daily specials.

I had dinner here with my family and discovered that their pizzas are exactly Neapolitan style. I liked a lot their parmigiana and fiori & alici pizza. The atmosphere is fine and relaxed, quick service and fine drafted beers too!

I was there for the second time during January 2017. This place is famous in Rome for making one of the best pizza in Rome and for making the best "supplì" (some kind of a meatball made with fried rice and other stuff inside). Thats true !!! Every kind of fried starters are really awesome also the pizza. Waitress and... More

I was recommended this place and I can say that it is the best pizza I tasted in Rome, the place is not very good located but it is worth to go. You will not regret. The best the dough! :)

Homemade dough, fresh ingredients. This is how pizza should taste like. The pizza just melted in our mouth. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is in Monte Verde Nuovo, so you have to make a bit of an effort to get there from Centro. You can take tram 8 from Piazza Venezia to the second to last stop and then walk about 4 minutes. It is an Italian pizza place, not a tourist pizza place. Pizza is what you get there. The... More

I have been to this pizzeria several times, mostly with a friend of mine, a doctor with a mania for fresh ingredients an hygiene: she says that she only has pizza here because it is the safest from this point of view. Apart from this, there is a huge choice of pizzas and quality toppings of all sort, but at... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
