We dined here on a Thursday night as it is very close to we are staying in Rome. The atmosphere is sophisticated. The dishes are modern takes on traditional Roman food. Service was attentive and professional. While not inexpensive for Rome, it is comparable to prices in the States for a similar restaurant on either coast.

Very friendly service, good knowledgeable advice on the wine. We had the 7 course degustazione menu which we highly appreciated, creative dishes, high quality, fully worth its price. At seven o'clock we were the first guests, most arrive after 20.00 hrs or even after 21.00 hrs. We had Granato teroldego from Foradori which is a great wine.

We dine out in restaurants a lot...and here the chef/kitchen staff surprised us again! On top of a hill in Trastevere is this restaurant. Very welcome entry, nice stylish atmosphere, very friendly people. The spaghetti carbonara with black truffle is amazing. The fish tartare and the beef tartare are wonderful. Definitely try the desserts too. All meals are not small... More

I have dined here three times, and I am always happy with the food quality and service here. I highly recommend their signature dish which is spaghetti carbonara with black truffles (19 euros per dish, which is very reasonable). Their molten chocolate cake is also amazing! They even do customized dishes for you if you want something off the menu.... More

Went with the family to celebrate a milestone birthday and we weren't disappointed. No brainer to have the tasting menu of 8 courses, all of which were special. Worth highlighting the steak and pasta courses. All in all a super evening and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. Great choice.

Our party of eight dined here on the 9th of February. One point that immediately impressed me was that they were able to cater for the one member of our party who chose not to try their tasting menu. In addition they were happy to swop out dishes for those who did not eat fish etc. An excellent wine list... More

This restaurant is just out of town, a pleasant drive, with some great views on the way of Rome. The restaurant was very busy with many tourists but also many Italians. The restaurants has a downstairs area and a collection of different rooms on the upper floor. Service was very pleasant and efficient. The food was very flavoursome, all very... More

My first time at Antico Arco was in the Fall of 2007 when I was studying abroad in Rome and my parents came to visit. Each dish we were ordered was exquisite and memorable. Nearly 10 years later I went back during a business trip, and it was just as incredible as I remembered! I took my clients to dinner... More

Absolutely the best restaurant experience we've had in Rome. Highly creative takes on traditional Italian dishes. They looked amazing on the plates. And tasted amazingly. Had a mindblowing carne cruda (Piedmontese steak tartare) with frozen flakes of foie gras, just to give you an example. We were there with our two kids and the four of us truly enjoyed the... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
