I travelled Italy with a bunch of hard to please, senior citizen, women artists. We ate here three times in a four day visit (seriously, this says a lot). The atmosphere upstairs is nice (very quiet), the service wonderful and the food to die for. Gets bust by 10pm. Drank great wines, which the owner recommended w each course. They... More

Top-notch honest food and ditto wine. Great place to eat after a whole day of strolling around the city! The pasta was simple and pure, nothing more, but so delicious and tasteful that i'll surely come back !

We went to try and eat here at the beginning of October and were disappointed to find that it was closed - it appeared to be closed down with no sign and a half empty room with just a few pieces of furniture left.

We were there for dinner this evening. the food was really good. fresh and self made pasta and strudel with vegetables (vegetables i dont like, but i liked it there). the prices are not really low but everything is biological so it's understandable. the waiter was really kind, helpful and friendly. i would go there again!

We were told about this lovely place by 2 ladies we met at breakfast, after paying over the odds for dinner on our first night in Rome. This little restaurant is unique in Rome, totally organic, friendly service and realistic prices for excellent food. We ate here once for lunch and twice for dinner, pizzas are made on the premises... More

Stopped in for lunch after reading about its organic status and great foods. Certainly wasn't disappointed!! Don't expect refined dining, this is all based on recyclable materials, including plastic plates, knives, forks and cups. But the value more than makes up for it. Quaint little place where fortunately their English speaking waitress happened to be passing through and so just... More

Having stumbled across this low-key restaurant minutes from the Vatican museums, it was a real surprise to discover that they served excellent, organic food despite its close proximity to such a touristy area. Both pastas that we tried were delicious, and though the menu was entirely in Italian, the waitress kindly offered to translate the menu for us. Free starters... More

After visiting san pietro in vatican, we were looking for a place to eat around 5pm. Many restaurants were closed until 7 when opening for dinner. This is a little self-service place with fresh organic produce. We ordered a succulent and delicious steak for 10 eur, fresh juice for 3.5, tasty cheese, napoletan pizza, red wine for a reasonable price.... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
