We were staying at the Hotel Concordia - right opposite - so this was very convenient for us, and the food and service was great too.

We visited Sofia after a long day walking all around Rome, finishing at the Spanish Steps. Was delighted to find this quiet little spot with lovely food at very good prices. A lovely way to end our weekend in Rome.

The menu is limited and this is usually a good sign. The Melanzane was really excellent, Risotto with Swordfish had the refreshing touch of lemon and the local Roman pasta Amatriciana was very good but heavy stuff. That is normal for that kind of pasta....More

Monk Fish appetizer was so good. Great portion and wonderfully prepared. Service a little slow (at first) on a slow Sunday summer night. But food came out quickly once ordered was well prepared and really fabulous. The flavors were excellent! It's small, quaint, and off...More

We were planning to dine at a different location but ended up being unable due to how busy it was so we looked around the area and ended up at Sofia. The decor was very pleasant as was our server. The food was fantastic. Everything...More

Very nice and cosy restaurant in a relatively quiet setting despite its central-ish location close to the Spanish steps. Service was exemplary - the waiter was very attentive, always appearing when needed but without being intrusive, and very helpful with recommendations. As for the food...More

I waited to write this because I thought midway through our week this would be our best meal throughout Rome and Florence and it was. You will not get a big plate of pasta with a red sauce. Instead, well planned and executed plates with...More

Read some of the low reviews and completely disagree. First, the portion size is perfect. Not sure if other reviewers expected Olive Garden portions and salads drenched in sub-par dressings but that is not true Italian style. None of the salads from Garda to Florence...More

We first went to Sofia 4 years ago, when we were in Rome & thought that the food & atmosphere was wonderful. 4 years later, back in Rome & this is the first restaurant we wanted to go back to. The husband & wife team...More

The dish we get were very smell, and the place is expensive. For a pasta meal we had to pay 13€, whole in other much better and tester places we got pasta meals for 7-11€.

Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos,
goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross
paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the
very centre of the city. Even though it has some of
the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle
Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque
parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty
face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural

Sofia is our pet dog and mascot,…. a friendly and loving Jack Russell who accompanies us in our adventures. This is why we decided to give our most precious project her name! An intimate, family-run restaurant with very few rules of thumb: a menu which respects the seasons, using the finest of Italian produce, always fresh every day; traditional Italian recipes together with other dishes specially created by our chef, and inspired by the flavours and colours of Mediterranean cuisine; our desire that your lunch or dinner take place in intimate surroundings and make you “feel at home”.
