Went to buy chocolates. Amazing selection. We spent ages choosing chocolates for gifts. Unfortunately staff were not friendly. Didn't bother to stop chatting to each other during the short time it took to pay.

We went to the little cafe inside every morning for breakfast (and sometimes in the afternoon for a pick-me-up) The pastries were good, delicious cappuccino, and friendly staff. There is a plethora of candy to purchase in the store and downstairs is a cute little supermarket. Definitely worth a stop.

This place was awesome! The sandwiches and carbonara was delicious. The prices were lower than what you'd pay in North America.

Attracted to the renowned name of Castroni, we wanted to have something to eat before going for a walk in Rome. We asked for two pizza with pumpkin flower portions. No price list was showed. The waitress invited us to sit in a quite dark and dull room. After we finished (two inglorious portions of pizza and one coffee) we... More

We spent quite a while looking around at the wide range of goods available in this lovely food store, it was fabulous, especially the hand decorated packaging for Christmas gifts. We made time to visit again for coffee and a snack

This is a family run specialty supermarket and restaurant. The food is excellent and the downstairs market is a great place to purchase tea and coffee, etc. We had eggplant Panini which were truly outstanding. We had what they called a Trancio Torta which puts the streusel that we have had in both Austria and Germany to shame. You have... More

Castroni Is a local family run specialty market, although they have 12 stores throughout Rome. The one I visited is on via Nazionale. As you enter, there is this long hallway all the way to the back which is the restaurant/cafe. As you walk thru, you will find a large selection of many different products, some imported, but mostly Italian... More

I usually go to Castroni with friends for lunch for they have a lot of variety of food: from panini (evene veggie ones), to salads, vegegies and meat, mozzarella etc. This time I went there for a break late in the morning: I liket the ginseng coffee and croissant. The only thing I did not like much was that the... More
