This place was exactly what we were looking for! A very authentic Italian bakery with about 20 different types of fresh bread and a great variety of "prosciutto" and "formaggio" to choose from!! And don't get me started on the cappuccino!! It is the perfect stop before heading to Vatican City!! Even though they have zero or little English, they... More

I had the margarita pizza which was nice, thin base and the cheese on it was good amount, the spaghetti 🍝 was average. Prices are much cheaper than other places in Rome.

We started each day here with brioche and cappuccino. It's remarkable that they can create and serve so quickly what is the best espresso and brioche in Rome all for 2 euros. It's a neighborhood gem with a bakery and prepared food and wine.

On our last visit to Rome we started each day with breakfast at La Compangia del Pane and finished the evening with a little vino or limoncello. The staff is this establishment are very professional and friendly. We look forward to our return.

We happened upon this deli while wondering around and were happy that it wasn't a touristic place. The service was great and they helped us (since we don’t speak Italian) get some bread, lunch meat and cheeses to bring back to our apartment for lunches for our group. We also went to breakfast there and were happy to find a... More

So many delicious things to choose to eat! I was craving for sweets!! I bought 3 cookies with 3 different fillings: chocolate; marmalade; amaretto. Each was very tasty. I also tried the almond biscotti and a slice of the pistachio-filled bread . Each satisfied my love of almonds and pistachio! A wonderful place to satisfy one's sweet tooth!

Bustling Italian bread shop that also has delicious cookies, pizza and fresh salads. There is a butcher area for meat slices and a lot of room to sit and enjoy the goodies. Biscotti are amazing. Full of Italians.

When in Rome do as the Romans do, one said and was right. A truly fantastic place for lunch - traditional and very simple food, cheap, quick. Not really quick if you come at 1pm. Try to be ahead of the others - the whole quarter has their lunch there.

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
