I went there with my daughter based on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. We started with an expensive 4 slices of toasted white bread with a few pieces of sardines taken out of glass from carrefour grocery and ordinary butter. Expectation was to have home made sour sardines, we got a few pieces grocery store over salted ones. Next... More

Though the restaurant did not come up in my Maps search, I passed it looking for another restaurant that turned out to be closed. I walked back and decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. The best fried artichoke ever. A lovely gnocchi with lamb and saffron. Delicious wine. I am happy!

We went on 9 Feb at the suggestion of our Hotel nearby. The welcome was indifferent and the food distinctly ho hum. Fairly tough pasta in the ravioli di buffalo, a lamb shank that had seen better days - possibly when it was originally cooked. But the astonishing thing was the bill for the wine. We chose a Fiano de... More

Me and my partner attended here on our second night of staying in Rome. The atmosphere was lovely, nice and chilled. The staff were very friendly and helped us muddle through the Italian. I opted for the meatballs and my partner opted for the Risotto. Both came very quickly and tasted lovely, The food quality was outstanding. My only criticism... More

The restaurant is a six minute walk from the Duke Hotel in Rome Italy. During our stay in Rome we ate there twice as the menu items were intriguing. Over the course of two dinners there, we were able to try the Ravioli with ham, Pasta with Squid, the lamb, gnocchi, and tiramisu. Presentation of all dishes were beautifully done... More

Parioli is the least touristy area of central Rome. It is a hilly neighbourhood that includes the Borghese Gardens and is distinctly quiet, low key and pleasantly tree lined. You will not find any restaurants here directed primarily at tourists. However, what you will find are uniformly good restaurants patronized by Romans. Gli Uvili is a very good example. We... More

We ate here, as it's only a short walk from our Hotel Lord Byron. We sat outside on a warm evening. Nice choices of food and an extensive wine list with a good wine waiter. My pasta was fairly ordinary, however the steak I had is one of the best I've had for years. Lovely! The service was excellent.

Terrific "find" - our Hotel Lord Byron Concierge made the recommendation and reservation here. Gli Ulivi specializes in crafting their olive oils, breads, jams, honeys, pomodoro & the animal husbandry is theirs, too. WOW!

Staying in Parioli

Neighbourhood Profile
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
