I visited Rome with my family last month and stayed in the area of Piazza Barberini. Our fist night, we happened to be walking along and we tried Cafe Suggestum. My very American dad was in search of some good spaghetti (and he's fairly pick about it). In the 6 nights we were in Rome, we ended up eating at... More

The place looks nice enough but it's a must avoid. We should have left when they refused to give us tap water and only had bottled water as the option, but when your hungry and tired you go along with it. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and I can honestly say it tasted like it came out of a can,... More

Adjacent to Barberini Metro station, a pleasant Trattoria serving good Italian food and providing friendly, efficient service. Sensibly priced, we at Pizza (huge) and had two rounds of drinks for €40. Worth a visit!

Nice lunch place on the Via Veneto. Eat outside and watch the world go by. Really good pizza with plentiful choices. And great soups and salads too.

Stopped here for a bit of lunch and nice glass of wine. We were not disappointed ! I had ravioli and my husband had pizza. We both had a lemoncello for desert. We liked it so much we bought some small bottles home with us. This was a friendly small cafe and they even had free wifi! Prices were very... More

Great place to have a rest and to get some Italian food. Pizza and Pasta are cheaper than many other cafes in the city centre and have a great atmosphere...

We stayed in Rome for 3nights and found this cafe on our first day. We both had a pizza each and thoroughly enjoyed them. We heard the waitress telling a customer that their lasagne was very good. So we went back the next night and asked the waiter if he thought the lasagne was as good as we had heard... More

Suggestum is a small restaurant that was just a short distance from our hotel on the Via Veneto. On arrival in Rome we stopped here for lunch which was reasonable and service prompt. We called in for a drink once or twice as well. On our last day following a full day of visits we decided to have our dinner... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
