Back in the 30-ie3s Hans & Eloisia Giessauf created a little corner of Austria down town Rome by tranforming an English tea room into a "Bierstube", also decorating hunting tropies all around guest rooms. And this almost legendary beer house had accommodated since many famous guests such as Pope Benedict XVI. Typical Austrian dishes : auhtentic Viennese "Fiaker" gulyas, sucking... More

The staff was courteous. The gnocchi were great. Options to sit in or out. The street settings are charming and comfortable.

Ultra thin chips. Very good pizza. Nice staff who smile - and understand English. A nice meal in via delle Croce. The wine of the house - vino della casa - is not goog. Buy something else. Inside and outside seeting

This restaurant is appalling in every sense of the word. My boyfriend and I were approached by one of the waiters to come in. His claims: "The chefs can cook anything you want. Anything that you can think of, they can cook it" "The food is all fresh" We thought great, let's try it. Worst decision of our live. I... More

This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We were informed that we could sit on the Terrace as long as we ordered food as well as drinks. When we tried to order, however, we were told that the amount was insufficient and that we had to move indoors or leave. When we tried to remind them... More

The food and staff are both repulsive! This is the worst place I have eaten ever, not just Italy, but my life. The waiter messed up my order several times than told me it was my fault. When I spoke with the manager about it she was beyond rude. To make matters worse the incompetent waiter didn't come around the... More

We ate dinner at the Antica Birreria Viennese in Rome and went back to eat there again the next day. Their ravioli is absolutely delicious! I tried the traditional cheese ravioli with meat sauce and a salmon stuffed ravioli, and they were to die for. If you are anywhere near the Spanish steps make sure to make a stop at... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
