Nice atmosphere, very cozy and warm. I had one of the best pizza ever and it was a simple one - the Margarita. Tried many other which I never had before like one with 4 types of cheese, another one known as buffalina. A good sign to know its genuine Italian food - well you find only Italians eating there!... Much more better than the "Roman" pizza but very distant from the level of the "Neapolitan" pizza. Moreover it's not cheap at all! Lower prices and better tastes would help a lot. But San Lorenzo area doesn't help.

If you want a real naples style pizza stop in "i fratelli" in San Lorenzo area. We discover this pizzeria walking through san lorenzo district; you pay for a margherita and water about 8€, really good.

Locals frequent the place as we discovered that we were probably the only tourists during lunch time. Salmon was incredible. Pizza was great. Went back again on another day. Would visit again if I'm back in Rome.

We found I Fratelli on our second night in Rome. Our hotel is around the corner. In fact we are still in Rome now. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there 4 nights in a row and plan one more visit before we leave. We tried several items from the menu but my fav was the Grilled Salmon.... More

At i Fratelli my friend and I finally found a place in Rome where we felt a mutual respect between the customer and host that is missing in most Roman restaurants. After visiting several restaurants, this was the first one where we were actually asked if we were happy about the food and stuff. We had pizzas with chicory as... More

The pizza was excellent and highly recommended. Pasta was great too but the portion was small, of course pasta is not considered a main course there. The service is fine with some exceptions; some of the waiting staff didn't seem to care about the clients and the guy who seems to be the owner or the chief waiter seems a... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
