Small and friendly restaurant with the apparent family owners fully on display. The family were very exuberant . Food varied and good served in good time. I had a mixed grill and there was amply for me.

Went with the family and have to say it is a proper trattoria Italian owned and hosted and nice range of Italian dishes. We had lasagne, pizza and chicken with potatoes and mixed salad (best mozzarella I have ever had anywhere!). The guitar playing host...More

I stumbled upon this family run Trattoria in Rome and was very impressed. The host has an exuberance about him, so much so you would love to take him home. It has a wonderful ambience about it with chatter and simplicity, and then three gentlemen...More

After our night time Vatican museum visit, we took a bus back to Hotel Morgana. Fortunately, Giovanni restaurant was still open. We needed a good dinner after doing a virtual whole day Catholic pilgrimage. We were the only customers at that time. The waiters were...More

We chose this restaurant as it looked very busy and homely. I had the spinach and egg pasta with cream and mushrooms which was tasted ok and filling as the portion was a good size. My partner has the schnitzel and potatoes which was very...More

Immediately opposite our Hotel Morgana. Great food and atmosphere, always full and mostly locals, which speaks for itself! Owner waited on tables and gave interludes of his musical skills by playing on his guitar & singing to the patrons, which everyone loved. A real Roman...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only
way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The
Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas
in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s
famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to
its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub,
Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot
vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
