We went to Il Caminetto based upon a friend of a friend who lives in Rome. He said it was quitenpossibly his favorite spot in the city. Although it was not Our favorite, it was very good in a traditional, old school Roman way. Nice rocket and tomatoe salad to start followed up with artichokes. For our main course my... More

The food was delicious. I recommend the carpaccio di provolone and carciofo alla giudia. Great price/quality range. This is a restaurant where Romans eat, not tourists, so it's very authentic. The only flaw is in the presentation of the dishes that could be cared for a little more. The only other negative is that there is no bus or metro... More

We've got some mosquito on the terrace, but the pizzas were quite good. Nothing special but good. It has a lot table on the inner side. I recommend this place.

We went to this place since it was recommended by our hostess and we enjoyed our food. We were warned about the amount of people in the restaurant, but during noon on a Monday we were 2 of the 4 customers present, so that was ok. In the evening and during the weekend it's best to place a reservation, apparantly.... More

We were twice there in June while in Roma. The food is excellent and the service, although they were absolutely packed, was good. We were not so happy with the wine. As we did not want a full bottle, we took only a small bottle, it was just too warm and I don’t “kill” my wine with ice cubes. Otherwise... More

It's always good to re-read a review you've written occasionally; especially if the "goal posts have been moved"! What's happened to my local.... The pizzas have changed at Il Caminetto... the crust is too thin, chewy not crunchy and the tomato base used is sour.... I beg the management to rectify this situation as for everything else, I still find... More

I have dined at Il Caminetto on many occasions as it is close to my apartment. I have always enjoyed my meal, especially the thin crust wood fired pizza. The variety of vegetables are alway good as is the "cut steak". A good local for variety and value.
