Ambiance and not too touristy. Went there to eat dinner twice and would have gone back many times. Staff was efficient and professional and not overly friendly but that's fine for a quiet and romantic dinner on a memorable holiday in Rome. Glad they are there and I think that this restaurant is a favorite among locals in Rome.

We selected this restaurant on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. It was very near our hotel, the Hotel Cosmopolita as well as many attractions. The service was excellent as was the food. I had chicken marsala and my husband had a veal dish. Both were excellent. We loved the cannoli for dessert. We were given wonderful... More

So good to enjoy good food in a laid-back and friendly surrounding- had bruschetta with tomatoes- outrageously delicious- lamb chops and tiramisu to die for - loved the house wine too! Almost felt I was at home in a foreign city- bellisimo and prego!🇮🇹😀

We had a lovely experience at Melo. It felt very authentic, and the staff were friendly. We had fairly nice pasta and main dishes, but our favourite was the Sicilian Cheesecake - it was unbelievably delicious! They also had a guitarist who, at intervals, played Italian classics to the restaurant, to which many of the Italian guests got up and... More

Food is of good homemade style, as the owner comes from Sicily, there are some Sicilian dishes like very good caponata. Alici were a little spicy and vinegary but still good, insalata di mare was ok. I liked risotto with seafood, while pasta with aubergine was not pasta alla Norma at all, but edible. Grilled seafood was ok, but what... More

We went here for dinner after it was recommended to us by my family. It was amazing. The food was delicious!! There were three of us - we ordered carbonara, spaghetti bolognaise and the sword fish. All three dishes were amazing. For desert we had the chocolate mousse - also fantastic. The waiters were friendly & the restaurant was comfortable.... More

After all the reviews on trip advisor we were looking forward to our visit to Trattoria Melo, and left it to our last night in Rome! We had high expectations of our meal which unfortunately did not pull through....Melon and Parma ham was good but the pasta dishes were nothing to write home about, in fact, I could have made... This little place is a hidden gem...I almost hesitate to review it because I will be contributing to it's increased business and it's the low-key charm that makes this place. Family run with recipes straight from the owner's wife (I believe)--you cannot get more authentic than this. We literally ate here every night we were in Rome--three nights running. It's... More

Tucked out the way this little restaraunt is lovely and welcoming. Fair prices and my fiancée scoffed down a carbonara and myself a lasagne, good portion sizes and though the staff don't speak much English they were still very welcoming and friendly. Tip - if the locals go there its a good Italian.

Small restaurant found by chance and me and my fiancee are glad we did! You know it's a good Italian when there's a small menu and the locals go there. Family run restaurant with good staff we had bruschetta lasagne and carbonara decent prices and very tasty!

Thank Anthony F

Staying in Trevi

Neighbourhood Profile
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
