Found this hidden gem while on a short break to Rome. It's close to the Termini and does fantastic coffee, croissants, omelettes and also some good panninis and salads for lunch. Very reasonably priced if you're looking for a quick breakfast before trekking out. It's quite small inside but that just adds to the ambience of the place, very buzzy... More

This place was decent, but I'm not sure it deserves such a high rating in Rome. The staff were really nice and they have a very wide range of pastries, but it's basically a bar, like you'd find in any city.

The food was fantastic. The man at the counter recommended a traditional Italian breakfast and it tasted amazing! The people working there are incredibly friendly and welcoming too. I loved Bar Fondi!

I had a simple cake with chocolate and a cafe macchiato. The cake was pretty good but nothing special. It's a nice place for breakfast!

Doesn't take cards, despite clearly having a card machine. Friendly but disorganised. Satisfactory coffee - okay pastry.

One of my favorite places to eat breakfast, and to listen to live music on mondays with open-mic Rome, recommended for open-minded and artistic people:)

The owner and staff are really nice. Good food. We particularly liked the salad that is prepared according to your wishes, with rice, grains, vegetables. Vegan or vegetarian.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
