We were told that the it would be a 20 minute wait as the kitchen wasn't open yet. However, we were given (for free) a glass of wine each while we waited at our table. I had the ravioli, which turned out to be one of the best pastas that I remember having!!

This place in the Trastevere district was recommended by a local who loves pasta. The fried artichokes were a favorite and the large ravioli with spinach and cream sauce was divine. We would have all ordered that if given another chance. The service was adequate. The panna cotta and tiramisu were both very good. We would eat here again when... More

We went there based on a recommendation of a local friend. We found the prices below travestere's average. Menu is full of local dishes. Many dishes to choose from. Ravioli and the lamb were excellent. Service was great. Wine was also great. Overall we were really satisfied and had nothing to complain about. Recommended for a pleasant dinner.

We had a very pleasant evening at Il Duca. It had a cozy and rustic charm that you'd expect from a traditional Italian trattoria. The pasta was great, and I would highly recommend the fettucine with porcini mushroom. The waiter Alfredo was very friendly and polite to us. Highly recommended. Please expect more visits from me in the future.

We stopped here for lunch on our first day in Rome and it was everything you want from traditional Italian, in fact, this is probably the best meal I have had in Italy. The antipasto platter was relatively cheap at 10 euro, but was great for two people. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

We stopped here for drinks and dessert and it was good, though the desserts were not necessarily my taste or sophisticated...yet well priced and friendly staff!

Recommended to us by our tour guide, Il Duca didn't disappoint. The in season artichoke salad was delicious, followed by am 'authentic' carbonara (no cream!) which was great. The staff were really friendly too. First place we've eaten at in Rome where we didn't feel that we were being rushed out for someone else to take our table. Restaurant fills... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
