When visiting Rome we always drop by "Giovanni's Wine Bar" for a pour. Giovanni is a classic host. The prices reasonable and his wine knowledge is unsurpassed. Hard to find but worth the search.

We planned to have pre-dinner wine at this place but ended up staying all evening. Amazing variety of wines with very professional service. Food was good and the recommended wines were great.

Every day we spend in Rome we always stop by to see Giovanni and Julia, even for just one glass of wine before going to dinner. One night during our stay we eat dinner there - getting their huge antipasto plate with a nice bottle of wine. Everything from nice Italian table wine to the finest Italian reds are available... Loved this little place, popped in for a glass, stayed for three and went back the next day. Very friendly service, lovely nibbles and great wine, not the cheapest but why should it be.

Turns out the gem of our eating time in Rome (5 days) was the restaurant right below our apartment. We ate there on the 2nd night as it was rainy out, and what a fantastic experience. Giovanni and Fabio were amazing hosts. Food was great flavor and ample sized. THe name of the restaurant was because as he started it... More

We stumbled across this little gem on our first evening in Rome as we ducked out of the rain! What a place! Giovanni, Julia and Fabio could not have made us feel more welcome. The wine is amazing and the food! Giovanni really knows his stuff and made us feel so welcome. We came back every night!

Been here 3 times over the course of two trips (within one year). Been serviced each time by what I assume is the owner - whitehaired older man, with an amazing sense of service and skill in creating a great atmosphere...with jokes.. rushing to provide WiFi details when seeing us fiddle with our phones, and coming around the tables with... Been here on both our visits to Rome and a very nice place to have a drink. Sit outside in the evening at the big wine barrels and enjoy the warm atmosphere in Rome with a nice glass of wine or Spritz. The host is so friendly and comes by all the time with small appetizers for the guests to... More

Superb wine and ditto explanation about the wines. We also enjoyed a great platter of cheese and cured meats! Will be back again for sure.
