Our best meal in Rome during our stay. The place in itself is tiny, but very charming. Try out the truffle appetiser and the cheese cake (never had anything like it!)

After some pretty mediocre dinners at other restaurants, this was great. Everyone was pleased with their meals - fish, pasta and lamb were all wonderful. Bruschetta was a bit pricey for one piece, but pecorino grioliato and pear walnut salad were delicious. We enjoyed the craft beer and wine as well.

This week we had dinner at This restaurant. It appealed to us by the fact that it is not too big and because of the very different design. Also there is no waiter outside calling for you to come in, which we like. The food was excellent. I have never had a restaurant serve such warm pasta. Usually it is... More

We went for dinner and the place caught our eyes as it's small and has the mediteranean air. Jazz was playing and that is always a door opener. The two guys serving were very relaxed, one rude but the other was compensating. One dish from the menu of the day was gone and that was not specified from the begining... More

We walked by the first evening in Rome and we instantly loved this place. Why? It is in the center of Trastevere, a little stairs leads you to the front door, and after that it is all pure and simple good and honest food and drinks. Very nice people serving and the kitchen staff must be very happy people! The... More

The best Lamb I've had. Also having egg allergies they conjured up a fab apple dessert. When in Rome do as the Romans do, Eat here

My Italian colleagues recommended this cozy, little restaurant for well-prepared Roman cuisine, and we were not disappointed. My friends and I shared the pear salad with gorgonzola and walnuts. The house wine was also delicious and paired well with our pasta dishes. The cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and spinach was delicious and served piping hot, as was the lasagna. My... More

We were weary after hiking for hours. The location is great for watching people, the drinks were good and the prices ok. I very much liked the ambient inside and the very good music - all that combined with very friendly staff made me hike on with a new spring to my step.

At first glance, this is a tiny alleyway of a restaurant, but they have a big room in the back too. Because it was chilly, we took a small table as far from the door as possible (but not ideal in my view) and my husband got to watch the kitchen activities. We had a pear salad that was excellent... Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
