I was in Rome with my family and just down from our Hotel was this Restaurant that came highly recommended by the staff. The restaurant is a little dated as far as decor but clean and the food was amazing. We ate there two times for dinner. We had fish dinner both times. Lobster alla catalana was to die for!... More

We have known Vincenzo since he opened in the 1970s and visited his restaurant frequently and regularly over the yars. The extraordinary delicious food, professional service, the genuine warm welcome, the superb fish dishes and variety of choice along with the family atmosphere the restaurant being run with his wife, son and daughter make this undoubtedly the best restaurant in... Hosteria da Vincenco is well known amongst locals and visitors for exclusively fresh fish prepared following simple recipes thus keeping the original flavor of the sea. Recommended starters are marinated anchovies, cuttlefish or octobus , followed by spectacular pastas with clams, Scampi or fish roe, tagliolini with black quid ink .... as second the chef suggested baked turbot, fresh sea... We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and I'm assuming the only reason for that was because it was 100m down the road because for Italian standards the food was pretty unimpressive. The service was fairly standard but we felt like toward the end our meal they wanted us out. Entrée: parmigiana di melenzane - not overly flavoursome and... More

Family owned since more than 40 years, this restaurant serves typical and home made roman food, with class and style and you feel very welcome. Last but not least, they remember you if you come again !

Our hotel was near this restaurant so we decided to try it out. We were also going by the Trip Advisor rating! This place was just alright. The wife had the shrimp risotto and I had the meat cannelloni, nothing impressive. The inside was quite dated and very bland, if nothing else is opened then sure have a meal there.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
