Lasagna was dry. No sauce available. Pizza was worst we've had in Italy. Only meal we've not enjoyed in Italy

The best carbonara that we have ever tried, awesome starters and an Italian atmosphere. Mostly visited by locals and quite calm! :)

The place had great food. I had the pizza margarita and it was excellent. However, the place is very small and they literally pack you on top of each other to make use of all the space. We happened to go for lunch and they were very busy. The service was average and I felt like we were treated as... More

We had a pizza, veal with a side of spaghetti which we requested, a large bottle of peroni, a large bottle of sparkling water and two coffees and the bill came to just 33 euros. The pizza was fantastic, one of the best I have had here, veal was also good. They have a very extensive menu of meats and... More

We had a dinner at this lovely restaurant. We picked the restaurant based on reviews on TripAdvisor. First of all, restaurant is crearly popular, because it was basically completely full when we got there, at 7:30 pm. They had to bring one extra table to squeeze us in, one example of the great service. We had pizzas for dinner and... More

My family and I just stopped in to Porto Castello for dinner tonight and had a great experience. The ambiance was very homey and comfortable, the wait staff was attentive and friendly and the food was great. Our favorite dish of the night was a pizza with zucchini blossoms and anchovies. It was packed with flavor and very well balanced... More

Our lunch here was really good. We had salad, ravioli and seafood dish with a glasses of Prosecco. Food arrived all together and was tasty. Prices are competitive too. Pizzas on other tables looked very decent too.

A family restaurant with really nice people. There was only a reserved table left outside and they gave it to us, knowing that they would be a free one later. The pizzas were delicious, real Italians ones (really thin bread and fresh food). Wanted to come back the day after but it was closed (Sunday).

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
