Located across the street from the Opera, La Matriciana is one of my favorite restaurants in Rome. Large menu and everything i have chosen on my many visits has been delicious. I usually send an email to book and get a quick and welcoming response....More

Our hotel suggested this hotel. OH my! We had to go back for another dinner. It was that good. The Rigatoni alla Carbonara was our favorite(ordered 2 times)! As an appetizer we had the Prosciutto with melon which was a refreshing start to our dinner....More

Once again a restaurant with a classic style interior and white linen tablecloths & napkins. Turning up about 10 minutes before our reservation time, the staff were still laying tables and we were a little wary of how things would go as the initial welcome...More

We booked this restaurant just opposite the Opera venue in Rome. The family owned restaurant is a mix of fine dining and family oriented vibe, with well dressed waiters in traditional black tie, and a front of house owner who expedites as he walks. The...More

Group of 12 was promptly served with individual choices. Great appetizers with roasted veggies and ham and fresh mozzarella, scallops were awesome as was the steak and sea bass. Everything was well executed. Highly recommend

La Matriciana was recommended to us by the owner of our favorite wine shop in NYC. We loved it, eating here on our first night in Rome and again, twelve days later, on our last night! We made reservations by email both times. Easy, and...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only
way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The
Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas
in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s
famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to
its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub,
Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot
vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
