I expect a superlative food, did not receive what I expected. A standard food level, the staff and service great and give the plus to the place. Cacio e pepe very good, the carbonara too eggy and regarding the involtino, a standard involtino nothing to be manti on as a speciality from Roma. Wine I would classify as medium low quality. Portion fair Quality / price... too high for the type of food

We went with friends one evening. One must be clear that for €30 they bring you a fixed menu. Not everything is the same good, no one likes everything, but the staff is friendly and quick, I liked 4 of the starters (5 or 6), the first ones were all good, I skipped the second one because I was full, the others ate of everything and they didn't appreciate the meatballs. Good side dishes, biscuits with sweet wine, we were satisfied.

We spent a week eating our way around Rome. This place was recommended by our AirBNB host who has lived his whole life in Rome with his family. The pasta was AMAZING! The restaurant is simple and unpretentious, but we knew it was a good choice by the number of locals dining around us. The cacio e pepe was a revelation- the best we’ve ever had by a long shot. There are some comments about the service in the reviews, but we found them to be responsive even in the face of our very sketchy Italian ordering attempt. I don’t get the sense they’re looking to cater to a lot of high need tourists, but if you keep a low profile and attempt some basic Italian ordering etiquette (look on YouTube if you don’t speak Italian) you are going to experience food made with fresh basic ingredients that will redefine your understanding of what is possible when tradition meets dedication to excellence.

Most surprisingly, this restaurant welcomed us with a written statement that the menu was set and price fixed per person. Quite alright, as the place was recommended by our hotel manager. Yet, the fixed price for 8-year olds is the same as for adults. First place in Italy we experienced this. A bit shocked, we went on ..

My friend and I were rudely told they were fully booked when there were obviously available tables (for what’s it’s worth, my friend who asked speaks Italian). We asked if we could wait for some people to finish and we were told the next booking was also full (this was 10pm). When I asked the woman if she could recommend somewhere else to eat, she laughed at me and said there was a pizzeria a block away. The rudest service I experienced in my life.

I had wonderful memories of this place, where I returned after 15 years. Happy to return, unfortunately the huge disappointment was in the dishes. The menu is, as at the time, a fixed price, “30 euros”. But despite myself and with great regret I have to say that I ate badly. Tasteless appetizers, bruschetta already cooked and only reheated before serving, beans from industrial cans, and a kind of pâté with tuna that tasted like nothing. First course: overcooked pasta and watered down sauce. Second course: very hard stew with spicy red sauce that didn't even bind to the meat. The only good thing was the wine donuts at the end of the dinner. Truly a great disappointment. I can only urge the owner, a "historical" and well-liked person of the tavern, to personally taste what his people prepare in the kitchen and bring to the tables.

I’ve been reading mixed reviews of this restaurant from great service to Rude old man. We encountered the later. The old man basically shooed us away. When we asked a table for two, he said the restaurant was full.. this was at 12:30 noon time, and only 1 table was taken, and they close at 2:30. Go figure.. nobody else is coming. Probably there are a younger staff in the evening.. probably they’re friendlier to Caucasians.. or probably they’re just horrible to asians, period. A BIG NO. Do not support racist and rude establishments. All Italian restos tastes alike if you’re a tourist like us.. so take your money to where it’s going to be appreciated. Also, the place looks more than underwhelming, at an underwhelming neighbourhood. No upside really if you ask me, but a very big downside. Ciao!

The Osteria dell'Angelo is worth a stop for its simple but courteous service and its very tasty traditional Roman dishes. As an appetizer we enjoyed a small hot brioche stuffed with mortadella, a simple tomato bruschetta, cannellini beans that melted in the mouth and an excellent chickpea cream (?) The carbonara with mezze sleeves had a good balance of flavors as did the stewed meatballs. Overall a more than satisfying experience at a fair price.

Recommend by our landlord, this was a very local restaurant, the owner had a passion for Rugby, many shirts were displayed. The food came in a set menu, which was a challenge for us to eat all, as it was so delicious and more some and the staff friendly. We really enjoyed

Good honest cooking, huge portions- have one steak for 2 people. Seriously good simple food. Steaks grilled on an open fire in the middle of the restaurant and beautifully cooked. Waiters v efficient and friendly, clean toilets. Good house wine. Happily come back here again. Definitely a haven for ruby fans and full of locals calling in for a lunch of pasta and salad

We had dinner on Saturday evening, reservations recommended, and we were catapulted into the typical Roman atmosphere with a large Scottish representation, in short, a spectacle. In fact, there were a large number of Scottish fans who came to Rome for the Six Nations rugby match, very festive, friendly and calm. Typically Roman cuisine with simple, very tasty and very tasty dishes, from appetizers to desserts. Very kind and friendly staff. Highly recommended and highly recommended any dish.

It is a very interesting traditional Roman place, also home to a group of great rugby enthusiasts. We had dinner with traditional Roman food at a reasonable price. It is probably also a consequence of the large table, there were about thirty of us, but sometimes the dishes seemed a little too "tourist-friendly". But still everything was good and a very pleasant evening.

The environment is as expected from a Roman trattoria. The first good, the second embarrassing. The rabbit was truly inedible, completely raw. The so-so roll, the sauce seemed to be made by a novice kid. The house wine is really difficult to swallow. I'm sorry to write a bad review but it's not a place I could recommend

The best authentic Roman food we had, the menu is a “you get what you get menu” but you still have choices between your pasta and main, owner was there when we visited and said hello to us and introduced himself. All the food was phonomenal. Tuna tartar and some other bits for a starter, had some kind of Pepe pasta and my wife had the carbonara, absolutely amazing dishes have not ever had better pasta (we had dined at Michelin star restaurant a few nights before and this pasta topped it for us), authentic Roman flavors and handcrafted pastas. Had the tripe allá Roman for my main which again had amazing flavor, my wife’s rabbit was cooked beatifully and had amazing flavor.

A unique experience, almost fixed menu, traditional dishes cooked as God commands without frills. Direct and efficient service. The real gem is the dessert: exceptional tarallucci and wine. A place with its own clear identity, worth trying.
